In Repsone To: Welcome to the Black Church America!

In response to our post, Welcome to the Black Church America! reader Ann Brock who hosts a blog called The Old Black Church said,

“Jeremiah Wright have been preaching this same message for over 30 years were was white America? In the suburbs not even knowing a Trinity United Church of Christ. I will not call Jeremiah Wight a racist unless I am call every Traditional Black Church pastor the same.

Jeremiah Wright and other pastors that have been through racism in this America preach from a place of experience . We as a people know that the Black Church is a total different church than most white churches. I grew up in a Traditional Black Church this is just as normal to here a pastor preach with this much passion. That is why Obama and no other black person find a problem with it. I don’t think Pastor Wright is a racist he might have a lot of anger but a racist no.”

Here is some video from The O’Reilly Factor of what they find offensive, do you find it offensive?

Criticism of Gov’t Policy = Anti-Americanism? The whole video seemed segmented, as if they are trying to create a picture without putting it in an appropriate context.

Wasn’t it fear of being called anti-American that caused the press and gov’t officials not to ask important questions about GWB and his foreign policies/Iraq? Isn’t that why people want “change” in the first place?

Man you know what I agree with what he was saying I’ve always believed the gov’t was bsing with us. BUT, I think he should have held his tongue knowing the situation at hand.

I moved to Canada to protect my kids from their own government. Some things are very anti-American in itself. The Pastor has points but he shouldn’t tie it to the Obama campaign. That is a liability. Church and State not mixing but “In God we trust” on the money?
