One of the things we like to do here at BWMK is tell you what works and what we like. Well today we wanted to share with you a site that can save you a lot of money on your next vacation, so when you hit the road you can spend that money on you and the kids and not just on travel.
If you haven’t tried hotwire.com where have you been? Hotwire.com is a major ingredient when it comes to me and TheMom traveling. Think it’s just for bargain basement reservations, think again. TheMom and I needed a hotel for an upcoming trip. Through hotwire we were able to book a room that’s normally 340.00 per night for 95 bucks, and I could have got it for 85 yesterday if I would have pulled the trigger sooner.
How does it work? Here’s an example, you pick a city and what you’re looking for, i.e. hotel, car, airfare etc… choose a part of the city you want to stay in then your options come up. They won’t tell you the hotel name but it will tell you the level of hotel i.e. 2 star, 3 star, 4 star and give you a chart with examples i.e. 3star = holiday inn, couryard marriot etc… so you have an idea of what you’re getting into. Now some of you may be squirming in your desk chairs about this but as long as you’re in the area you want to be in and in the level of hotel you want, it’s all good. It will give you a price, you book the hotel then it tells you the specifics of what hotel exactly it is, address and all.
They say they get everything so cheap because it’s excess inventory and they can’t disclose the names until you buy so it doesn’t screw up the businesses regular sales. On a trip to Miami a few years back a couple we were going with wanted to stay in a specific hotel, I had the feeling that my hotel on hotwire was the same one but they didn’t want to try it. End result, same hotel much cheaper price. Like stated before they also have rental cars and airfare.
Hotwire.com is definitely worth checking out and is BMWK tested and approved.

Like everyone else I was skeptical about trying hotwire. But a few months ago while I was trying to book a room in New Orleans for Jazz Fest, I figured I would be bold and try it. I must say I had a very pleasant experience as well.

On my blog I have a travel section of links of different companies and web sites to help with book travel and how to gain more frequent flier miles. Some of them I never heard of until compiling the list. And I’m sure there are more out there. I’m in to increasing my NWA frequent flier miles.

For anyone not afraid of the internet, you can get a better deal online because the middle man(sales person)has been cut out of the cost. Cars, hotel, motel rooms, airline tickets basketball tickest, diamonds. LOL. The internet can be your friend in many ways. Savings, savings and more savings. There is always a buyer beware and you do have to do your resersh and remember “The BBB is for yor safety. I can also find a nice site to chat with real ppl who don’t want to down each other.
