Atlanta Update

Yesterday me and TheMom put in a full day in and around Atlanta with no signs of letting up in the near future. We started down memory lane… TheMom wanted to visit Hillman College where she got her undergrad degree so we went by the campus where every 5 minutes I heard, that wasn’t there when I was here, it’s changed so much. My answer was… a lot has changed since the civil rights era LOL then I quickly ducked a right hook. LOL She stocked up on some alumni gear then we rolled out.

We messed around downtown for a while before heading back to the hotel and then later on attending a social event for the Blogging While Brown conference, me and TheMom didn’t come to town specifically for the conference but… it was perfect timing to meet some folks I’ve been trying to get up with for a while and to put some faces with blogs so to speak. Some of the people I was chopping it up with were: Rawdawgbuffalo (gotta come past the store before we leave town), Shawn of The Dallas South Blog, Marcus (surprised me by saying he loved the blog and had just referred someone to it at an event that they hosted before the social) and Angela (finally touched bases) from Black Web 2.0 (if you’re a techie or blogger this site is mandatory), our girl Dede from Clutch Magazine (finally met face to face) the guy that runs the black weblog awards (I know we’re going to get nominated right family???), TheMom had a long conversation with the founder of BlogHER, and LaTasha from Luxetips was very cool. It was definitely a nice event and like I said good to hook up with some more folks.

As soon as that was over we met TheMoms cousin who scooped us from the hotel and took us to a spot where her other cousin worked as a bartender. We had a good night eating and drinking then slipped into a seperate party that was being held upstairs. OK, why was it an all white party and me and TheMom were the only ones not wearing white, then I realized we were old when the DJ kept shouting out where are my 80s babies… regardless we had a ball that ended early in the morning then came back and crashed without having to get up at 6:30AM after hearing the pitter patter of little feet…. it was a good night!
