Randomness - Labor Day Weekend

31 August 2008 63 views 2 Comments

It’s time for another randomness post. This is where I just ramble about whatever is going on with us and is on my mind.

1. Last Friday your favorite black and married couple got some play during the news portion of the Russ Parr show locally here in the DC area. A lot of people heard it throughout the morning including friends, family and coworkers and we got some new readers as a result. I should be getting the audio early this week so I’ll post it for everyone to hear as soon as I do.

2. We’re finally set to start taping black and married TV. It will be a 15-20 minute webshow talking about relationships, parenting, hot topics and whatever. Be on the lookout soon, I’m going to try to get the first taping in tomorrow.

3. I’m also trying to finish the newsletter I was talking about earlier. Trying to develop original content for it that will be different than what you find on site everyday.

4. Saw a wild story about Palin today. I’ll post it later.

5. We’re praying for everyone in the gulf coast or those of you who have family there, hopefully things don’t turn out too bad.

6. It’s amazing what a difference an election year can make as far as hurricane preparedness. If they were on the ball like this before I wonder how Katrina would have been different.

7. We’re about to start our featured couples segment back up. We’ve got a few that we’re working with now to share their stories. If you know of anyone that has a good story or you do send it to info@blackandmarriedwithkids.com for consideration.

8. Sitting on our patio with TheMom and our three girls. They’re singing nursery rhymes and TheMom is sucking corn out of her choppers that I cooked on the grill.

9. Beginning tomorrow we’re going to start a series or posts called Money Monday’s by a financial advisor and author that was kind enough to contribute to the site. Topics will include dealing with student loans, foreclosure, savings, and more. Be sure to check back.

10. This marks the second straight month that we’ve actually doubled the traffic to our blog so we want to thank you for logging on and checking us out, and a special thank you to those of you that leave your comments and opinions. This week when you get back to work why don’t you tell someone about the site? Share us with your friends and family. Email one of your favorite posts to someone and sign up for the daily updates if you haven’t already.

I can only imagine their pain and shed tears that 3 years have passed and this is happeining agian. I was so embarassed when Kanye said that “Bush does not care about black people”. Mrs Bush had the gull to say that “these ppl are living better than they ever had(or something to that extent). While living in a stadium where rape and murder happened as a result of “Katrina”. I can’t imagine being displaced out of my home for any reason let alone mother nature and not have help.
