Get rid of cable. We don’t have it and believe me it is not missed. Landlines. You might review your insurance policies and see where you can save money. Use coupons at the grocery store and take lunch everyday. Use public transportation if you can and, if it’s possible get rid of one car which saves gas, insurance, maintenance and car pmt. Dress warmly and say diligent on your preventive care so that you avoid illness.

With winter right around the corner, if you have a kid or two away at college don’t forget to close the heating vent in their room(s). Don’t have the water running while brushing your teeth. An average household has 5 members and if each brush 3 times a day as recommened for 2-5 minutes, that’s just a waste.

I also refuse to have my heat set on 90 so the kids can run around in shorts and tshirts all winter.
