I don't think it was racist. They were making fun of him. It was in bad taste and ignorant but just based on their Kenya/Muslim confusion you can tell these are not very worldly people. I can't say some off the jokes I've heard about Palin being a redneck or McCain's dead arm have not been as bad. Now if the drawing was in black face or something I would agree. We can't take every joke thrown at Obama as racist.

Just wondering why they reference the liking to "Aunt Jamima"? I was trying to find humor in just looking at the front left side of the box and the slogan "Change you can taste" (We all know the saying, you want it so bad you can taste it) If you like waffles that part made sense. The rest to me is not as "tongue and cheek" as they are defending it to be. I am not going to make a big deal of this that I know to be racist to me. I only find it to take away from the real issues and the race to the White House. To bad the race for the White House is literally about "the race of a man".
Yes, it is absolutely racist. No, you are not alone in thinking so...it is also amazing to me how these so-called "All Americans" are always so surprised that they are being accused of racism and refuse to admit that racism is so deeply embedded in our society's psyche that images as pervasive as this one, crop up, always at election time, and they are so "interested to know what folks think"
These images were always meant as "fun" and to do exactly what they do--offend and progandize. Aunt Jemima means quality my...scuse me. I sometimes wish we could take all these folks and do a clockwork orange on them and make them watch "Ethnic Notions" by Marlon Riggs till they wanna become "Black Like Me." Sheesh!
