The Safe Sex License – Don’t Leave Home Without It

A young brother from Brooklyn named Eli Dancy has come up with a new way that he thinks will help fight the spread of HIV/AIDS. It’s the Safe Sex License. The card that looks like a drivers license is a way of proving to their sexual partners that they’ve been tested for STDs. This is from the website www.stfree.com

The SSL allows its users to instantly and confidentially

  • Prove to another individual their STD testing history
  • Educate themselves and others on important up to date STD information
  • Educate themselves and others on proper use of this new form of prevention
  • Encourages other forms of STD prevention

They say how it works is person A would have the license, would dial a 800 number, enter a member number and PIN and then let their partner listen to the last two times they’ve been tested.

BMWK what do you think about the Safe Sex Lincese? Does it sound like a good idea? Will it make a difference? Would you get one or encourage your children to use one if they were sexually active?

This is stupid, there is always someone coming up with stupid, stupid stuff. If you have to go through all of this to have sex outside of marriage then you know it is not a good idea. Just say no to sex until you are married.

Not reliable. A person could be negative on Aug 1 and get infected the same month with something. Their September date would have a false sense of security. It's also opens up the person tested to scrutiny from health insurance companies, jobs, etc. Too 'Big Brotherish" for me. Ditto Kit, this is not reliable. You can be infected already with HIV or Herpes and not be testing positive yet at the time of testing. The reality is, when you are having sex, you have not a clue to what you are exposing yourself too. Condoms do not provide 100% especially against Herpes. Viruses aren't the only concerns. STIs are prevalent too. Sexually Transmitted Infections are usually bacterial infections that are transferred orally and sexually. This type of card just will cause false security exposing you to things that you may not be able to get rid of. If you want to know the truth about sex and its repercussions check out the book, “Single, Saved and Having Sex” by Ty Adams. www.tyadamsonline.com Why are we literally dying to have sex? I know we can’t stop the dog and cat thing but come on people, think for a minute. The only safe sex is to not do it at all. A card and a database means nothing.

It is the NORM to cheat on a spouse though it is not NORMAL. I suggest everyone go get tested with there partner on a regular bases (3 months). Even doing that will not give 100% protection but atleast you can find out early enough to get treatment. The safest sex is the kind you do with yourself and even then you better make sure you keep your tools clean.

You keep it trill all you want to but if you are married and you think that married people are suppose to do things like this then you have another problem, with an attitude like this you give no hope to the future. Let us speak life into situations not defeat. Married people ane not supposed to have sex with other people and single people need to try to hold out and do the right thing. Sometimes i think statements from people like Bill Cosby are hard but when you really listen to him all he is saying is let's do better and we need to.

I agree with most of the posters, the Safe Sex Driver's License is not really workable. I don't believe it is a stupid idea as another poster suggest, but as it is proposed, it won't work,. I also agree with KIT, some married folks go outside the marriage and have more than one sexual partner. Is it right? NO, but that is reality. Ms. HMs last blog post..My Life: I'm Back!

It may not be 100% reliable but you'll at least know your potential partner has been responsible enough the get tested regularly. If they're responsible enough to get tested regularly they're probably concerned enough about thy're own safety to be practicing safe sex regularly.
