Who Won The Presidential Town Hall Debate? We Think It Was “That One”

Who do you think won last night’s Town Hall style Presidential Debate? I think it was Barack Obama’s to lose and if you didn’t catch it I’m sure you’ll be seeing snippets of that one awkward moment when John McCain tried to be witty and failed miserably. From CNN:

Immediately after the debate, Obama’s campaign highlighted a moment when McCain sought to criticize Obama for supporting the 2007 Bush-Cheney energy bill:

“It was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate, loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney,” McCain said.

“You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me.”

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton immediately e-mailed reporters noting McCain’s seemingly peculiar reference to the Illinois senator.

“Did John McCain just refer to Obama as ‘that one?’” Burton asked. Obama campaign highlights ‘that one’

The tone last night was definitely more aggresive than in the previous debate and it was good to see Obama not saying but John, but John every few minutes. Instead last night you can tell he meant business after a week of the McCain/Palin camp trying to smear him.

The debate did not address too much of what I did not already know. Obama won and “that one”. We all know he wanted to say “That N”. He held that one in good. You can tell he talks like that behind closed doors. We don’t need him as President. I know Reagan was older than McCain when elected but Reagan was more personable.

Reagan was older at the start of his SECOND term. McCain, if elected, would be the oldest president starting his first term.

“That One” certainly won the debate. The comment, accompanied by a condescending finger point and subtle grin, was subtle evidence that McCain knew he was losing. McCain also knows that November looks bleak for him and the Pitbull with Lipstick.

I am a registered Democrat, but I’ll vote for the best man. A lousy Republican ticket makes the 2008 election an absolute no brainer.

I will be so glad when all this is over. Yes Obama won that debate hands down. McCain is running such an ugly race that it’s sickening. I’m so tired of the smear and fear tactic. Just want to let them know it’s not going to work this time. What’s so sad is that all those people that really stand behind McCain and Palin is as guilty as they are you would think that this world would be better than that, unfortantly we have not. It’s sad to know that many people want vote for Obama because of the color of his skin and not the issue. Like the old saying says what’s in a mans heart it will come out.
The mainstream media needs to call them out and expose them on this kind of behavior.

Honestly, I am really tired of this entire election. I did not watch the debate. I did watch CNN’s post debate analysis. Frankly, it is more substantive than watching the actual debates. I am tired of the attack politics and spin on both sides. Of course, when it comes to attack politics it is mainly McCain who is guilty.

I will be voting for Barak Obama next month. It is not because he is black, but because I believe he is the better candidate of the two. With that said, the solutions for us Americans will not be found in the White House. Things are going to get tougher no matter who takes up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue come January. We are going to have to ride this thing out and make better decisions at the community level.

My hope is that people stop looking at Mr. Obama as some sort of savior. If he is elected he will have many issues to tackle. Let us not set the man up for failure. He can not fix it all. No one man or woman can. It is up to us the citizens to take an active role in fixing the mess around us.

That debate was awful. That town hall mess should not be repeated and Tom did a poor job as well. Barack did good, and Mccain pissed me off with “that one over there” comment. I couldn’t focus after that.

Tom has always been a great interviewer. I guess he can only do one on one. That debate had no organization. It was all over the place. A moderator should never over shadow those debating. That was a hot mess. It would have been more fair if Queen Latifiah asked the questions. LOL.

they didnt really talk about any real issues the debate was pointless. Obama And mc cain both supported a $700 billion bailout of wall street at our expense …our Money.. SMH im not voting this is sad.
