Jennifer Hudson and her mother Darnell
The mother and brother of pop star Jennifer Hudson have been found dead, shot to death on the south side of Chicago in their home. There’s also an Amber Alert that has been issued for her 7 year old nephew who police believe may have been taken from the home. NBC in Chicago is reporting it may have been the result of a domestic dispute.

This is so sad. Jennifer has come along way. She is in the new issue of S2S taking about how close her family is. My heart just fell when I heard this. What makes it more sad is that it was a domestic disbute. Not sure if it was over money or the 7 yr. old that was in the home at the time and is missing. Money and fame never phased Jennifer, she has always been the girl next door type of woman to me. Jennifer just recently annouced her engagement to Puck. My prayers to her and her family.

This is just so very sad.
I hope that it is also a wake up call to black people to STOP coddling mentally ill relatives and shrugging off their behavior and threats with “he’s trippin” and “she’s trippin”.
How many black folks will NOT even use the word “mentally ill” to describe the dangerous persons in their own families??
Let this be a wake up call to stop mimimizing this pathology in our own families.
I pray for the comfort and healing of this family.

This is sad on so many levels. I’m hearing reports now that they may have found the nephew’s body in a car some where in Chicago. This is just horrible.
Yeah, I’m hearing about the little boy may be dead now as well. When will this stop. When will we win this war against evil? When will we stop doing this to each other? This is sad, simply sad. Especially black men, we are the protectors of our family, of our children, why would someone do something so cowardly. This was pure evil.
R.I.P. I know how it is to loose your family. My Mom and Brother passed near the same time. I can imagine the feeling. Losing even one person is hard to bare…especially so publicly. My heart goes out.
