I absolutely love this commercial too! I just showed it to my husband and he loves it as well. It does give me a warm fuzzy feeling because it is so important for children to know that their fathers support them. Furthermore I praise the people behind it because it could help the African American community break free of these traditional roles that the man is supposed to do this and the woman is supposed to do this and so on. Furthermore to the misguided brother up there: He probably didn't have a father in his life and maybe he's just bitter. Or maybe he just doesn't know any better. But let's keep the positive messages flowing. BTW love the blog. Keep up the good work :)

Can I just tell you how much I love & enjoyed this Blog and even more the video. I'm so glad to see a Dad take time with his daughters activity instead of saying "Well, I didn't get a boy so sports for me"...You go Dad...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this ad! I wish more people understood how creating positive lifelong memories and promoting the self-esteem of children matters so much more than what others may think. Children who know that their fathers will spend time with them are less likely to go to prison or get out of line in the first place. Love is the key to a stable society!

Wow, the first post was back in 2008, where have I been? First, I love you Jay. What a wonderful father you must be, and how lucky your children are. BRAVO!! It’s not only amazing but so sad that there are plenty of people like Kazheem. And right on to Lablues. It also touched my heart. At the age of 53 I never remember my father ever kissing me, hugging me or tell me that he loved. And when he was dying he could not understand why I had nothing to do with him. So, Jay thank you not only for being a wonderful dad and putting your life on the line even w/people like Kazheem out there. A lot of us really do appreciate what you do. God bless you and yours. Rodney bravo to you for being a champ. And for Kazheem, be careful, life sucks when you have no love.

In all my life, I've never had a more favorite commercial! The first time I saw it, I laughed until I cried. After the commercial was over I continued to cry because the idea of it not only tickled my funny bone but touched my heart. It takes a real man and genuine dad to meet a daughter where she is in life and jump right in feet first! Amen to you, to all the dads doing cheers and the moms playing football. God bless and keep it up!

This has to be one of my favorite commercials...to see this guy out there cheerleading "unabashedly" and unashamed with his daughter. As fathers, we gotta do what we gotta do. Last year, I went out to tthe sidewalk in front of our house with my (at the time) 11 year old daughter and played "Skipping Rocks," her brainstorm of an idea. The goal of the game was to take 5 rocks, skip them down the side walk without going out of bounds (into the grass). Whoever skipped theirs the furthest won.

I'm the 2008 Skipping Rocks champion.

To Kazheem or anyone who thinks like him,

I have never posted a comment before but I could not let this slide. I am a black male who just happens to be a Police Officer.
It just amazes me that someone could think the way you do. Everyday, I deal with boys and girls who usually doesn't have their father in their life. Yes, it does make a big difference to the child if their father shows that he loves and cares about them. With all of the ills of this world it truely upsets me when someone can find fault with love. If we had more fathers like the one in the video take time out and show interest in their children, we would not have the problems that we have today. Like I said before, I am a Police Officer and I do work in one of the most violent places in America. Futhermore, I do fight with and arrest violent individuals but I also show them some compassion. If showing my child I care about her and enjoy engaging with her in her activities is so called "girlie" then I am the biggest sissy who will take your freedom. The bottom line is that "True Love is True Love and does not waiver" it will make you fell great and your child will have all the confidence is shown that their parents care. I guess some just need to grow up!
