    Because he celebrates who I am and loves me flaws and all (Beyonce said it best!), extremely supportive and always encourages me to do my best, and more than anything he has defined what love is for me through his actions. I could go on forever but to have an intelligent, strong black man who wants to build a life with me is a blessing...can't wait to marry him! I appreciate this post. It is easier to focus on the negative but because no one on this earth is perfect, focusing on the negative aspects of the relationship or characteristics of your mate is not only a distraction from the love that brought you together but discouraging and I pray that in my marriage we focus on uplifting one another...

    (Spouse = Boyfriend, in my case. LOL) We LIKE each other... We LOVE each other... We respect ourselves & our relationship... We keep outsiders OUT... We get along great... We were FRIENDS, 1st...     I digress from the actual topic, but I appreciate these posts. A recent boyfriend and I were discussing marriage, but I realized that couldn't honestly say any of these things about him. We didn't click, we didn't have much in common (leaving little to converse about), he constantly made 'jokes' about all the other women that would love to have him, on top of it all, he called me his queen. Talk about an oxymoron. Ultimately, he loved me and I knew he did, but love can't make me endure a relationship. I'd rather enjoy one with someone else. Anyway, thanks for giving me a glimpse of what I already know to be true - I only want to spend my life with the man God made especially for me. God bless you all, and your current/perspective relationships! :)

    @LESLIE HOLD ON, HE WILL FIND YOU. i love my husband, because he prayed for me, he says that i am his everything. he knows when to hold me, he is such a relaxed person, he lets me be me, he knows how to laugh, he knows how to make me laugh. he is a man.(all man)i don't have to look after him like a child. he take care of his family, he is a lover, he is still the same man i met three years ago. he is responsible, respectful, and really great looking.

    I love my husband (TheDad) because: he is thoughtful, he is a good person, a good father to our kids, he loves me and let’s me know it all of the time through his actions and words, we have fun together and he is my best friend, when we started dating I told my friend he was a sweetie pie…and years later he is still my sweetie pie, he is a family man and loves to spend time with his family, he loves and respects my parents,…i could go on and on..he makes me feel lucky/blessed everyday that I am married to him!!!     I love my husband because he doesn't just teach, but leads by example, through him I have learned paitence. He makes me laugh and knows when to be serious. I love my husband because when we first met I said "what you see is what you get". He still likes what he sees and what he is getting I know this because he not only shows me but tells me. I love my husband because he makes it easy to also "like" him. I also met my match because I have someone to debate with. And the number one reason why I love my husband is..............Because he loves me and my kids and married a ready made family and never complained.

    I love my husband because not everyday you find someone to connect with. He is my better half also because where I am weak he is strong and everything marriage should be, that God intended it to be it is. often I look back over other relationship some good and some bad but none could ever compare to this, he is my me of me. How I knew my husband was made for me was from the first kiss, whatever I thought and hope a kiss should, could, would be, it was and more. There at that moment I knew because everything around me stood still, the time, wind, everything was motionless. I love him because he loves me unconditionally.

    I love her because my wife pushes everyone around her to do better. When I was at the academy I was thinking about quitting. The running was causing my knees were sore and I was tired. She promply told me stay with it this is what you wanted. At the PT test I was off by 15 sec. On the final I lowered my time by 55 seconds. A classroom best. On that day I turned 48.     He loves the Lord more than he loves me, which means he can love me the way the Lord loves me: unconditionally. Additionally, because he loves the Lord so much, I don't ever have to worry about him doing something outside the will of the Lord (adultery, abuse, etc). Also because he is not a punk. We're both very strong willed and I never wanted to marry anyone that could not lead me effectively.

    Over the yrs my husband and I have both grown together. We have been married for 24 yrs and I love him for a list reasons that would be rather lengthy but he is an inspiration to anyone he comes in contact with. He inspires and encourages others to be their best in whatever their talents and gifting may be.

    Okay let me count the ways...1. He has called me every single day when he leaves his job since I met him and he has always come home on time but once. He was 15 minutes late and silly him filmed the traffic to show me. 2. He goes to lunch with me every day whether physically or by phone. It's his way of escaping the job and connecting with me in the middle of the day. 3. When he comes in the door he stops, takes his shoes off, drops his keys and wallet on the counter, kisses me then picks up our son and plays with him a minute. Every night in that order. Thought I would get bored with it but it actually makes me feel safe and secure because I know he loves me and his son so much that he wants to connect with us. 4. He has never missed a doctors appointment of mines or my son. Never. Our health is important to him and he puts us first no matter what. He actually went through some scrutiny on his job a couple of times but he let them know that we come first. 5. When we drive in the car he always hold my hand 6. He has told me I was beautiful when my hair was all over my head, I gained weight, when I was sick, when I was just lounging around in pajamas or jogging pants, etc just as many times as he did when I was all made up 7.He goes on his knees every night and pray for us and he says grace while holding our hands and it dont matter where we are. He is not ashamed of GOD and  giving him thanks. 8. He is a perfect gentleman. He opens doors, pulls our seats, carries bags, etc. 9 He listens to me and then reacts to what I say. I can not tell you how good it feels to know someone really cares about your feelings. It dont matter if it makes sense to him or anyone else. I dont like it, that's all he needs to know. He changes it, eliminates it, redirects it, etc. How can you argue with a man like him? He makes sure I am happy. He tells me all that time that is his main goal and he does a great job of it. 10. Three years ago he retired me and made me a stay at home wife and mom but he still shares the chores and child rearing everyday and respects the contributions I make to this family. 11. He is faithful, hardworking, selfless and loves GOD. He prepares for us now and for the future and even for when he is no longer on this earth. 12. He loves and respect my mom and our families. GOD could not have blest me with a better man. He is my king and I am thankful for one more time to brag on him because he truly deserves it!

    I love my husband because he treats me like a queen. He is a wonderful father who is multi-talented. He is the cook, beautician, lover, friend and a Godly man. Always willing to admit that he is wrong even though most of the time he's not. I love my husband because he is a strong, hardworking black man and I know that's a blessing.
