Today’s nugget from “On The Web” is crazy. A Massachusettes state trooper stops a man and his wife for driving on the shoulder in traffic, ignores their explanation that the woman is in labor then makes them wait and also prove that she’s pregnant. Now this one hits home because when we had our two year old TheMom went into labor during rush hour traffic and DC area traffic is no joke. I rode the shoulder, the grass and anything else and was balling, pedal to the medal.
BMWK what do you think? Is this crazy or was the trooper justified? Would you have waited or pulled off? I was thinking the guy could have also called 911 and told them the deal. I think the cop would have felt stupid then when an ambulance pulls up behind them with more cop cars. What do you think?

I would have had my husband call 911. I’m due with our third baby in the spring. This story hit home for us because we live in Bowie,MD and my doctor is at Washington Hospital Center! Wish us luck.
Linda, that is the name of my first born..

If I were in this situation I would tell my hubby to put the medal to the pedal and get me to the hospital as fast as you can. I will want for us to worry about the ticket later. The officer should be on the “walk of shame”.
OK, with all that’s going on, the trooper took his law and order responsibilities to the nth degree. Part of being good at any job is being flexible.
I no longer live in DMV, but I grew up there and when I started driving (got a late start 6 years ago, at age 22) I soon learned about the 395 trap along the stretch from the mixing bowl to the Pentagon.
Well my dad told me the story of how he got pulled over rushing to my birth at Alexandria Hospital in 1980. The police officer escorted him to the hospital, thank goodness, but of course, IT WAS ON 395 in that exact stretch! lol
At least we know the cops in the DMV area have been shady on the same stretches for decades lmao
Hi people, it is Labor Day! I’m enjoying my extra day off, and I am planning to make something fun that will probably involve a moto trip and seeing something new in Dillon I haven’t seen yet.
You write something new on this Monday at the labor day? … HAppY BLogGiNG!
