That pic looks like the pics I see on a two headed kitten. It looks 3D. I know everyone wants to celebrate our next President in their own way. Some ways are just to extreme and so ghetto to me. I am sure Mr. Obama is pleased with all the love, but let's keep it classy and look at our kids and say "you too can be President if you want". Our glass ceiling is finally cracking. I love it.

I have not read the other comments. I mean no disrespect if I repeat what has already been said but I hope this will be taken in the spirit that it is meant.
US and the world has not option but to be intoxicated with delight at this historic event. A black man mounts an incredibly slick campaign and wins - twice, in America. He was also the president of the Harvard law review. When a question whether a black person can become a president, the answer is now in the affirmative. This is huge. How far the celebration should go is besides the point because that is a function of common sense and judgement. There will be those who get up to their own agendas, but they do it anyhow.
The things that the writer claims Barrack (I don't know him as well as the writer to call him Barry, which I fund a little uncomfortable if not downright inappropriate - that's just me) being president will not change, are the things that he never claimed his presidency will change. Weight loss and parenting obligations are personal matters I would have thought.
I cannot understate my excitement at this event, and I am not even a US citizen. This is huge, go out there and tell your children just how big this is.

I LUV all the Obamamania. Yes he is a politican, No he is not the Messiah or 2nd coming (as a christian that has always bothered me when ppl say that), No I will not agree w/ everything he does (hasnt been the case w/ any other President why start now). My thing is unless one was critical of past President dont start pointing out all of Baracks flaws (we all have them) like he is the 1st President ever. We as a ppl can be so critical. I agree the avg man and woman needs to take a stand in the community, schools etc. Will we still have senseless murders, teenage pregnancy, or any other issue we currently have YES does that mean we dont need to CELEBRATE this moment in history NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So although you made some good pts in your post WHO CARES go with the flow cause who knows when we will ever exp. another time like this in history.

I think Obama mania is in part because he is the first non-white president we have ever had. The fact he got elected does say a lot about the direction we are going in. But I also think it is because in most people's minds Bush has been a terrible president. I think so many people are happy to see Bush leave that it takes the Obama mania to the next level. The entire world is glad to see Bush go.

If Barak was coming behind a president with some fairly high outgoing ratings people would not be as excited about him.

One thing that does concern me is how many of our people are looking at him like some kind of messiah. We have to get out of searching for the next savior. We better work with others in our communites and save ourselves.

I just the Jesus Christ treatment does not set him up for failure down the road.

Regardless of whether or not "Obamania" is getting out of hand, the thing I love to see is the fact that our president elect is not getting drunk off the praises of the media and the community that voted him into office.

He is fully aware that the very people who dropped palm leaves as he and his family rolled into the White House are the same people who will shout "Crucify him!" if he makes any kind of mistakes in office.

He is very sober, and is making a wise decision to keep his friends close and enemies closer. No matter what the nation thinks, he knows he has a job to do, and the brother is getting down to business.

My only prayer is that he has done nothing in the past with this whole Blagoyevich fiasco that could prevent him from even taking office. I would hate to see him dogged by corruption he participated in for the duration of his presidency. Hopefully he kept his nose clean during his tenure as the IL Senator.

Cuz folks, like it or not, the man is a POLITICIAN. No matter what color you put on that, it is not beyond that career field to engage in immoral, unethical and illegal activity. I just hope that he chose to take the moral high ground in spite of it all.

100% true, and all that Obama mania is going to hurt him when he goes up for re-election in 4 years.

If I see or read one more thing about how the Obama's are going to change African Americans lifestyle I am going to scream. An obese black woman is not going to lose weight because Mrs. Obama works out everyday and a deadbeat black father is not going to start taking care of his kids cause the President does. I think those comparisons or expectations are a set up, so in four years the media can say. "Well the African Americans had a president and nothing in their community changed."

Wonderful post by AvgBro, it needs to be in all of the major magazines.
