In Beaumont Texas police responded to a silent alarm 3AM Monday morning at a toy store and found a 4 year old boy. He had gotten out of his house which was located across the street. The boy then locked the door and crossed multiple lanes of traffic only to find the the door to the toy store was locked. Luckily he tried a second door and it was open (Why the heck was the second door open in the middle of the night? Somebody got some splainin’ to do).
While inside he tripped the silent alarm and when police showed up he wanted to show them his toys. They later found a family member looking for him in the neighborhood. Texas CPS put the boy in a relatives home until they can investigate.

So many ppl are in big trouble. This is one of those sad but because of the out come, funny stories. Parents don’t give their kids enough credit. I suggest the parents to put a chain on all exit doors so high up that the kid can’t unchain it while standing on a chair. I am trying to figure out how someone can lock one door and not the other being they are side by side. Kids do the darndest things. I can’t wait until he gets older to see what challenges he has in store for his parents. In all fairness the person who left the door unlocked should feel alittle relief because the kid tripped the alarm and was found. I don’t like thinking what could have happened to him trying to cross that street again in an effort to get back home.
Adventurous lil’ guy, eh? I’m glad for the sake of the family that someone was looking for him… that’ll look good in court and should them regain custody. Also glad he didn’t get run over.

Smart little fella. I imagine he couldn’t get to sleep for thinking about those toys across the street. It’s just a good thing there was no traffic, but as smart as he is, if there were cars coming he’d probably wait at a cross walk until they passed, at least I’d like to think so. I’m just glad the little guy is alright.
However, the person that left the store door open should be flogged. Nevertheless, all’s well that ends well.
This just gives me chills..because you never know what your child can do until they do it. Our two year can now open doors. But I did not know she could actually twist the door knob and open it until she did it. If I am working in my bedroom, then sometimes I will close my bedroom door so that she and the baby can not get out. Well one day I looked up and she was gone out to of the room and she left the door open… which meant that our baby (who is crawling) could also get out and possibly fall down the stairs. It made me nervous when I saw that she could open the door. Now I have to use the gate instead of closing the door.

I just wonder what would of happend to the little boy if that door was not unlocked. Then where would he have ended up at ?
I am so glad the little munchkin is okay. There are so many things wrong here, but the best part is, he is fine. I used to be able to lay my 9 month is our bed while she watched baby einstein before going to sleep. Well a couple of weeks ago, she fell out because she is starting to crawl. Never had before but now, she is moviing all over the place. Needless to say, I haven’t donne that again. I feel safe in telling you guys this because mmostly eevry mother I have told this, have a similar story of their own. (LOL!)
Rock - He probably would have waited there until the store opened. He had one thing on his little mind… TOYS!
@ewok - if your baby hasn’t fallen off of something i.e. bed, changing table, chair, lap something ain’t right
it through the window to gain access. I know when the police walked up and he came out the door they were like what the heck is going on here.

@ The Dad. Thanks for that. Beat myself up at first…was ready to call “the people ” on myself….LOL. You and TheMom have a wonderful site!
Don’t know what happened to my comment. Half of the second part got chopped off.
@ewok - We’re glad you like it and we appreciate you being a regular reader.

I was just telling my daughter about this incident and the video, and she reminded of when she was three and was playing with the phone. The fire department came.

ewok - did TheDad forget to mention that the samething happened to him last week when he fell asleep holding the baby on the bed? She crawled right out of his arms and boop…right on the floor.
It scared us both!!!

@TheMom…. LOL! Noooo, he failed to offer that tid-bit of information. You start following all of the instructions from everyting you have read: ‘Don’t let her go to sleep’ and, ‘is she responsive?” You’re flipping out while they have cried a couple of tears and then moved on the next thing that will grab their attention. I tell ya, it makes me feel so much better to know that other parents share this same experience. You’re still a nervous wreck, mind you, but so is everyone else LOL!
@ TheDad: “if your baby hasn’t fallen off of something i.e. bed, changing table, chair, lap something ain’t right” soooo true!
@ TheMom: i can hear TheDad saying, “Why you bringing up old stuff?” ROFL that’s so funny how you called him out!
She lying yall don’t believe her! I’ll never admit that.
I agree with TheMom… you never know what you kids can do until they do it. I feel badly that CPS was involved and had to investigate, because the mother and father are probably just as surprised. And you never go to bed thinking, “Gee, I should make it extremely difficult to exist the house today [jingle chains] because the kid may be old enough and smart enough to leave the house in the middle of the night and ‘rob’ a Toy Store.”
I’ll never forget learning how my young toddler could climb… After he got out of a barricaded area and was caught half-way up a descended attic ladder as I ran to grab a glass of water! Can you say PASS. OUT. ?

He really did not “break into the store”, the door was unlocked. This is considered “unlawful entry”. Hope they don’t charge him to severely. LOL.
Why is are legal system so harsh on minors. Grade school kids are being arrested for hugging teachers and being charged with sexual misconduct. WHAT? It’s like a doctor who tells you that you have cancer and only refers you to an oncologist and says “have a nice day”. What happened to empathy, sympathy?
“Our”
“What happened to empathy, sympathy?”… Lawsuits
The headline of course was written wrong in the first place. A four year old didn’t break into the store, the door was left unlocked by a person that was in their own mind much less responsible than this four year old child. The media sucks with kind of stuff, I hate the sub-languaged messages that they try to send out about certain groups of people. Nerts to the media.
Parents of todays raising children, these kids now are wiser in thoughts and yet weaker with judgemental actions.
Only a real parent, dedicated and loving parent knows that even with a quick eye and a even quicker hand, kids still find new and never thought of ways to make boo boos. Lol
