Some people think he shouldn’t have done the show. What is your POV?

I think he shouldn’t have done the show ’cause I’m old and fell asleep before he came on. Go back on Ellen, man! LOL.
I thought he did a great job. I enjoy seeing him in “regular” settings. The town halls, the Leno appearances, doing visits to school, etc. I still enjoy watching him in the White House, definitely, but he just shines when he’s around folks like me.
I really enjoyed it. Like Tara, I had to keep myself awake! But still, O was great, funny, and endearing. I think interviews like this and the town halls are important, if for no other reason than it allows us to feel a bit more connected and socially invested in what he is doing. It is great to see a political leader who can sustain the attention of the nation on matters so important. Quite a change from the apathy and silent treatment of the Bush years.

@Claudia – Exactly! I kind of felt like because Bush knew his approval ratings were so low he felt the need to hide. I don’t really remember seeing a whole lot of the guy, actually. I just want honest answers from my elected officials. That’s all. Tell me why you made the decisions you made and don’t lie to me.
That being said, I don’t think it was necessarily Bush’s fault for the trainwreck that was the past eight years. He’s simply an elected offical. We did this to ourselves….well, the folks who voted for him anyway…
I thought I was going to take a quick nap and wake up to watch it, it didn’t happen. He did apologize before the show aired. He picked a bad choice of words. Had he simply said “I am bowling challenged” it would not have been on every show today. I am not condoing his statement but we do have to remember it is late night tv and somethimes “political correctness” goes right out the window, even for our President. In my city ppl who lived near our airport complained about the noise, our Mayor suggested that the deaf ppl moved to that location. LOL.

I am so glad you had this on your website because I totally forgot about this interview. President Obama was just AWESOME!!!

@Anna – Even though I find the statement your Mayor said funny, I do understand how people in positions of power how to be more mindful that they represent the standard for “all” to follow. So yea Obama messed up….but I STILL love him
