well, the purpose behind the billboard was definitely fulfilled. it landed the pastor on cnn!
but no, i don't think it went too far...not with all the "live nude girls" and "sex shoppe" signs that litter the interstate in certain areas. it provides a much needed balance.
This is GREAT!!! As much as our society promotes illicit sex its refreashing to have it promoted positively. Like the pastor said, sex is a natural part of marriage and is in the Bible and I think we do society a disservice when we have no voice in the discussion.
I wonder if the mayor has a problem with other billboards in his area...
It's about time Christians speak openly about sex! Satan has used our silence on the topic to his advantage for way too long. God designed it for our pleasure, it's one of his wonderful gifts and we need to be out of the closet about it. Satan's perversion of this gift has led to so much heartache and destruction. There is such disillusionment with the false intimacy so many people have settled for. We have the answer, and we need to share it.
This is why we need to thank God for Freedom of Speech. If we had any other Constitution, those billboards wouldn't have lasted a day! I'm sure there was some opposition to the boards because the "offended" would try to silence voices or attack speaker because the view may not seem "open-minded" enough. The term "open-minded" is actually just a person's way of saying you must see things my way or you're wrong. A lot of times we keep silent for the sake of not appearing "open-minded" and we miss opportunities to perhaps truly "open" someone else's mind to a better way or in this case THE better way that has somehow lost "favor" with each passing generation. Just my "soapbox moment" for today. Sorry for the multitude of "air quotes" :0D
