50 Million Pound Challenge Week 2

Ok, so as you know last week we started the State Farm 50 Million Pound Challenge. A few of you even joined our team that we have going on their site. Here is an update on how we’re doing so far:

HER VIEW:

Lord knows it was a struggle to stay on task over this past Easter weekend.  My mom kept calling me all week asking me about the menu for Easter dinner.  We finally decided not to do the traditional Easter dinner, but  to cookout on the grill instead (steaks, ribs, burgers, brats, baked beans, potato salad, etc….)  This would be my first cookout of the year, and I was looking forward to tasting everything we had on the menu.  So I worked out extra hard last week and decided that I would exhibit some self control on Sunday.  So…did I control myself?  Somewhat.  I don’t think Dr. Ian would have liked what I ate….But I can honestly say I would have eaten more if I was not on this challenge. This challenge is making me aware of everything I eat.  And it is not hard to eat healthy as the daily meal plans make it easy for me to come up with nutritional meals all day long.

My goal is to do at least 60 minutes of exercise everyday.  Between the weather and my busy schedule, this has been a real challenge.  However, I did run for about 45 minutes at least 4 days last week.  It felt good.  I also figure that chasing after a 1 year old, a 2 year old and a 7 year old should count for some exercise too.  Lifting those babies each day in and out of the car, chasing them around the house, going up and down the stairs to change pampers, cooking dinner and doing house work should count for some exercise too..right?  I will have to ask Dr. Ian about that.

I have lost 4 pounds since starting the challenge two weeks ago.  I have 10 more pounds to lose!!!  But I don’t think I will stop at that.  I like this healthier new lifestyle.

HIS VIEW:

BMWK I can honestly say that I’ve been very consistent during the past week. The problem is I’ve been consistently doing nothing. The maritime gun show I talked about last week is in serious jeopardy right out of the gate. As mentioned yesterday we’re shooting a documentary so I’ve been running around town getting interviews and it’s totally thrown my schedule off. The results are no exercise, poor food choices and a serious lack of sleep to say the least.  While these are not ideal conditions to take on a health and fitness regimen I’m determined to make it happen.

To assist what I did was go onto the 50Million Pound Challenge website and check out some tips from Dr. Ian on how to get started. I also joined the healthy meal plan offering. I think this will help me with staying on track when it comes to that area since healthier eating habits was one of my main goals.

PS Ronnie better not try to go too far with this weight loss thing. We’re not having a skeleton running around here. Looking like an Olsen twin, ain’t gonna happen.

On another note, it’s not too late to join with us in a healthier lifestyle. Click the links above to reach the site and join our team!

    LOL at you two!

Ronnie, I’ve lost one pound so far and can you believe how happy that made me? I can’t believe you ran 45 minutes for 4 days! That’s incredible!

Lamar – “BMWK I can honestly say that I’ve been very consistent during the past week. The problem is I’ve been consistently doing nothing.” Is it wrong that I laughed? Am I supposed to be serious? LOL.

Congratulations, I have been doing the challenge for 28 days now and I have to admit the first two weeks were hard. But now I look forward to challenging myself. I have always been an exerciser but just never had a healthly diet to go with. I have lost 12 pounds so far and lots of inches.

Keep up the good work and good Luck!
