Oprah Tweets Today

Thanks to the buzz from the Ashton Kutcher/CNN race to one million followers, today will mark the day that the big “O” tweets for the first time. As of this writing she already has over 60K people following her on the web service. For all of the social media techies we’ve installed a module below that will follow the buzz on twitter about this.

That’s not a shameless plug. I would rather follow this site than Oprah. Good for her though. I love what Oprah does but her show is on the same time as Ellen. If I am off work and get to see daytime tv I love Ellen and her corny dancing. I can say that with everyone talking about tweeting this week, I now know what it is. I am slow. LOL.

Being curious took its toll on me. I have a “twitter” account. I wanted to see what all the hype is. I guess I am one of those gals who does not get easily excited. I am following this site, Lenny Kraviz and Ellen, some of my buddy list friends from Yahoo “tweet”, I added them to follow them or me. My nephew was here today and I saw that he had a “twitter” accunt that has been in existance since 4/2. He only did what his Aunt Anna did, set it up for the hype. He has never returned to it. I did the same thing with myspace and facebook. Set up an account and quickly got bored. It’s just me. I like IM or being on a blog with feed back.

I’m glad to see Oprah on Twitter, however, I have to say this about celebrity Twitterers: they don’t follow people and they don’t engage in conversation on Twitter…I don’t think that is right because that’s what Twitter is all about. It turns me (and many people, I think) off.
