I love it as well, but for the sake of debate do public proposal have more to do with grand standing and self promotion than love?

I think the man is so happy with the idea of being joined with this woman that he wants the whole world to know it. He wants the world to know how he feels about her and that she is the only woman for him. His excitement is contagious; there is nothing to hide in his love for her. Grandstanding for love is okay by me.

Good question, Danielle! I definitely agree with what Anthony said. It wasn't extravagant or beyond what many men do to permanently gain the heart of the one they love. It was nowhere near the engagement of the couple where the gentleman reserved 20 or 30 rooms at the Mariott and took his girlfriend from room to room, allowing her parents to pray for them, then his parents, then friends, family, the dog, cat, etc. Finally they got to the penthouse, and that's where he proposed. It was beautiful! Unpractical, but beautiful nonetheless. LOL

I got scared for him watching that. I was waiting for her to say yes and wonderd if the woman behind the chair was the soon too be mother-in-law ( the woman fanning everyone). It turned out that she said yes. Is it really wrong for a woman to propose to a man in the "privacy of their own home" and the end result is "yes I will marry you "? Does a desperate woman make a desperate bride if she is the one to propose because she knows her man is shy and does not need a "audience, congretation" to propose? At the end of the day isn't being married a good thing, no matter who asked? As much as I enjoyed the vid and wish my hubby would have asked me, I found it fun and my character to ask his parents for their sons hand in marriage.(we were 29 and 34) As I stated before on a post long ago, my mother-in-law wanted to know if we wanted a big weddng and my father-in-law said "welcome to the family". I have been married to hubby for 12 yrs. It's ok that hubby and his parents may be the only ones to remember "our wedding day". A mariage is about the two ppl in it and not the ones trying to examine it.
