Last week we premiered our new documentary which is set to be released tomorrow, Tuesday August 4th 2009. We set up a cameraman at the exit to the theater and this is what he came back with…

That’s awesome! I’m so sorry I couldn’t attend, but we sent our prayers and love from Louisiana.

KJ always trying to ruin a monumental moment. P Lamar, Ronnie, please let the record show that I was NOT tryna take any kind of credit. I was just giving you roses before your caskets drop. I’ll send the thorns to KJ’s place. LOL

Harriet I guess I don’t count because I’m not official yet! Haha j/k
I’m planning a viewing party for Friday now….I hope my friends take time to come out! I will be sure to take pics I’m so excited for BMWK
Harriet
@ jonesi, charge it to my head, not to my heart. lol you were included in that “etc., etc.”
Tiya’
Jonesi, that is a great idea (a viewing party) I think we might do that too!
Anna
I too plan on having a viewing party. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy or three or four. I know they will make great “stocking stuffers”.
Jonesi
@Tiya – Do it! I am hopefully starting a movement. I was sad I couldn’t attend the premiere but I didn’t want that to stop the fellowship. I don’t host many girls nites but what better way to bring the girls together? My fiance wasn’t very interested so I didn’t make it co-ed, but I am actually going to do two…one for my mom and her friends. I sent the trailers from youtube to gage interest and so far everyone is anxious to see it like I am. I will post how things go on Friday. So far 5 of my friends have confirmed

Jonesi… why wasn’t he interested? What did he say?
What do you think your single girlfriends will get out of the movie?
<— can’t have a viewing party… why? cuz that would be gay
right?
i do support yall though.

“This is a great day for Black America.” Those are some serious words! Congratulations on the success of the documentary, and can’t wait to see it!
Jonesi
@KJ – my fiance is….um…how do I say it? Simple. Not in a bad way though. I mean, he hasn’t seen the trailor (matter of fact, I’m not sure if I even bothered to send it to him), but he’s a brainiac (degree in physics) so our interest vary drastically! LOL…I’m sure he will watch it at home together with me, but a co-ed gathering didn’t sound interesting to him, so I knew I couldn’t get him on board to invite his friends.
Single women, prayerfully, will see that healthy, loving, respectful black relationships DO indeed exist. I have some friends in some (lack of a better word) jacked up relationships and quite honestly I don’t understand it. Growing up, I was called stuck up because of my preference in men. But I had a standard, not sure what it was really, but not many guys could hold my (solo) interest. I just have short patience for black men who aren’t doing anything with their life. I had high expectation for men, because I had equally high expectations for myself, but now that I am actually an adult, I realize they really weren’t high expectations at ALL! There is a “settlement” movement that young black women are following and if I can expose my friends to what life COULD have in store relationshop wise, maybe they can see that what I have isn’t rare at all
I just hope it opens up a much needed discussion that will allow us to have an honest dialogue about some of the situations we have found ourselves in over the years. And I am only 24yrs old…I need them to know they still have time to find Mr. Right and not just Mr. Right now that can satisfy their superfical needs, but fullfill them wholistically and hopefully one day become the men they are capable of being – leaders and men of their households and families
Jonesi
I meant to say head of households (at the end)

Sorry I am dipping but that was funny. What I get from this site is a sense to share what I find the importance of just everyday survival/great informative info for all ppl.
This whole site is about encouraging relationships.
Wow, Do you have “fight night, or football/basketball parties?
We get in to our day to day lives and forget how easy it is to encourage others. This whole site is my daily inspiration, not just the daily inspiration posts. Ppl have “bible studies”. Why not have “relationship” studies and share what you know about this site (along with the movie) with others. We all know the term, “pay it forward”. I see this site as one I have to share with everyone because it is the only site that I log into that is positive. I get tired of gossip/urban sites that tear each other apart. Even the ppl commenting get called out within the room. This site is my “sacred” site. Most everyone who comments keeps it real. We don’t try to knock each other down to make ourself look good. FYI, I hope I don’t get in trouble but I love AttorneyMoms site “Character Corner”.
Jonesi
And KJ having a viewing party would be commendable….NOT “gay” (don’t like to say stuff like that). Men need to realize that seeking ways to obtain the knowledge that will encourage and enlighten them on what it takes to fulfill their destiny to become husbands (and not baby makers) is the blessing that our communuties need. I am so tired of the guys I interact with not take love and life seriously. Women are really suffering from the influx of boys that are unwilling to step up (not referencing you at all – just an observation). I am also tired of women enabling these men to stay stagnant and get comfortable in their ways. It truly makes me sad. I have stories for days, but PLEASE encourage your guys, if not to come together to view the documentary, but to talk honestly about why it has become so easy to remain….welp, boys. We women too need to raise the bar because our future depends on it…..

@King James- I’m mad you spotted your head in the background, LOL. That really was King James he came out to support the movement.
Daisy
@Anna is that you from SR blog site? U mentioned attymom
Jonesi
@Anna- I wondered that too! Lol, I don’t comment there (I have been accepted tho) but I do read comments occationally…I just forget to ask Anna….I see you do
Anna
I am that Anna. I think I found this site by accident. It was the best mistake I ever made. LOl I am not to call him this but “TheDad” considers me a “old head” on his and Ronnies site. I even won a book last year on this site. They mailed it to my job. Daisy I asked if that was you from SR along time ago. We know we may clown on that site but act like we have sense on this one. LOL. It’s like my kids burping at the dinner table but know when they/we go out to eat they better be on their best behavior. I don’t remember how I found this site but it was through another. I just remember the count down clock when TheMom was waiting to deliver their last bundle of joy.

Do single black women feel that they don’t exist, or that its just not easily attainable… even getting to the LTR part.. ? I know both for some, but the latter is the majority eh?
I too, do wish that we could rid ourselves of the ‘settlement’ movement.. I’m with you all the way
@Anna .. how much did you get paid for that comment? Just messing, but it’s good to hear good honest appreciation.
@Jonesi.. I must need some new friends. 1. Many of my friends are already married. 2. The single ones… I can’t even imagine myself saying ‘hey, let’s talk about why it’s hard to be in relationships and have INTEGRITY… and get honest answers.’
