We’re back with our second installment of our newest segment titled, BMWK Interview With The Author. No need for half-stepping here at BlackandMarriedWithKids.com so we went big time and are pleased to announce that our author for this week really needs no introduction.
You may know him from his hit TV Shows, his best-selling book or as being the person that inspired you to buy your first pair of shell toe Adidas. This week’s guest is Rev. Run who talked to me about the book he has out along with his wife Justine Simmons. The best-selling book has just been released in paperback and is titled, Take Back Your Family How To Raise Respectful and Loving Kids In a Dysfunctional World.
We had a great discussion about parenting and marriage so be sure to take a listen. Also check out our free giveaway to find out how to get your own copy. Enjoy!

My respect for him just grew. This is really good stuff.
It’s exciting to see them allow us into their lives and see how they work through things.
Lamar, great questions…
After listening.. this was good stuff. I want to read now.
Great post! Thanks for sharing the interview.
Great interview & questions Lamar!!! Rev Run shares some real family wisdom!
I respect the fact that they keep the family grounded. Regardless of their wealth, the children aren’t disrespectful and they aren’t allowed to throw money around just because their parents have it. One episode, Aunti Kimora checked Vanessa’s modesty…”Are your ta-ta’s hangin’ out?” They don’t get “buck wild” just because their daddy is Rev. Run. You won’t see these children on “Sweet 16″. Run and Justine….”Much Respect”.
I love and apprecitate this family. Rev is so down to earth but at the same time I will give him “kudos” for the way the kids were reared, they are not bratty but know how blessed they are. This is as blended of a family that we will ever see. You can’t tell that some of the kids were not birthed by Justine. I am going to buy a copy of this book and I finally got a replacement bank card so I can order “Happily Ever After”. I love watching this MTV show and when he ends the show in a bubble bath texting I laugh, only because I don’t know how to text. It seems like it takes too long vs typing on my pc keyboard. I will however learn to text one day to prove “you can teach an old dog new tricks”. LOL.
