My solution to the health care problem is to eliminate the benefit of health care to all of the Senators and Representatives and then let them come to some conclusion on how they would take care of themselves and their families. If they were insurance poor I think we would have had a fair and cost effective health care program years ago.

Not only is he echoing the sentiments of a large portion of the country (the clear majority on all accounts as delineated by liberally biased polls), but he’s also making his stand clear. His exclamation was in favor of every hard working American who doesn’t want to pay for other people’s poor lifestyle choices and laziness, and it will gain him notoriety in the eyes of voters who agree with him. The guy is smart, and will benefit from this: other Obama opponents will almost certainly follow suit in the near future when they see the public reaction to this man’s actions.
On a similar note, I can’t believe that Obama supporters are so willing to give away freedom after freedom to liberal tyranny disguised as social goodness. I don’t understand why people will support a man because of what he is (black), not who he is (oppressive, megalomaniac with no understanding of basic economics). I don’t want to pay your medical bills. I don’t want to be REQUIRED to buy health Obama’s insurance (the penalty being proposed is $3900 for those who don’t buy it). I want to take the money I EARN and spend it in the manner that I SEE FIT. If anyone believes that government can better spend their earnings, HE is a fool (and will soon be parted from his money). Frankly, my money and votes go to the guys trying to reduce the oppressive nature of government… libertarians and the like.

I feel fairly certain that if the tables were turned and Joe Wilson was the President, Barack Obama would never in a million years have yelled out “you lie” to President Wilson. While I despised George Bush, I would never condone a Congressman heckling him. I think it’s how we’re raised, really.
Like “Kansas”, I noticed that Rep. Wilson shut down his website. Pretty cowardly. It’s interesting to note that the current White House website has a contact link right on the home page. When President Bush was in office, I tried to find the ‘Contact Us’ link to send the White House an e-mail. I had to go deep into the system to find it.
I was deeply disappointed by hearing such disrespect by Rep. Joe Wilson during the President’s address. Obviously Joe forgot where he was, what he was saying, when he was saying it and how quickly it would impact his positon as a Representive. Certainly all should keep in mind that at all times they are representing not just small segments in the county, but also representing our Country as a hold. What CommonSense said was the bottom line to me. As a former military member, no matter how much I disagreed with former president Bush, if the man came to town and I was in uniform, you better believe I saluted him! That’s just common respect for his position as Commander in Chief! That MAN effectively signed the death warrants for thousands of young American men and women dying on foreign soil, but his POSITION commanded respect.
To address the issue of health care, now we have another MAN in the same POSITION, trying to elicit change in a system that has been terribly broken and neglected for YEARS because those in position to change it chose to leave it as is.
They had plenty of free medical care provided in the benefits package that came with their POSITION. That said POSITION was designed to help those who could not help themselves with regard to medical care. Instead of doing that, they reclined on the corruption of their comfort and turned a blind eye to the needs of the people they were supposed to be serving.
No one else has tried to elicit this kind of change to fix a broken system. The opposition (and unprecedentd, unmitigated and totally unnecessary disrespect)our President and COMMANDER IN CHIEF is encountering in the name of patriotism–and worse yet, in the name of God, who put him in the position–is ridiculous.
My older brother and I discussed how refreshing it is to finally see the true colors of closeted prejudiced and racist people ooze forth after President Obama was elected. Which means that if an illegal person walks into a hospital with a fake social security card and identification, he or she will receive care (it’s how they get work). I know that President Obama’s plan was not developed to help the illegals, but inturn raises our current deficit situation, which is upsetting understandably. But again Joe was out of order to call him a lier in this public setting, losing all credibility.
What is so sad is that the Republican party is so blind to party lines that in their eyes they look at a man who send millions of blameless to their deaths as a hero, while making a villian out of a man who is trying to save millions of lives through providing healthcare for those who don’t have it. It’s also crazy to me that the Republican party acts as if reform is not needed, Obama is not the first President to try to provide this needed service. Mr. Joe it’s time you start your letter of resignation.
Joe Wilson seems to be quite proud of his military service but as a “good” soldier he profaned his military service (and his military training) when he shouted down the “Commander and Chief.” His disrespect would not be tolerated in the military nor should it be in the Halls of Congress.

On the other hand, if President Obama says he will not provide health insurance coverage for illegals, he is lying. The US currently provides healthcare for illegals. Its against the law to be denied coverage for emergency conditions for any human in the US. He would have to come out and say he is ending this practice to say “We will not provide healthcare for illegals”. Research before you come out with inaccurate statements.

To all of you that think you have enough money to cover any future medical problems that you, your family and other loved ones encounter, because you have the “best coverage” that money can buy, I wonder what would happen if you came down with a life threatening illness that required thousands of dollars for treatment and thousands of dollars for your monthly medications, and your insurance company decides to put a cap on your policy(if it doesen’t already have one), I guess it is okay, to just drop your coverage and let you or your loved one die, if you run out of insurance and/or money,right? You don’t feel that you or your loving family deserve help from anyone after you’ve contributed to this society most of your life, right?
Before you speak on who you don’t want to help, put yourself in their shoes. Think about, who are you helping, with your current frame of mind? You are helping some rich guy get richer, and some poor guy, one that has worked all of his life, but lost his job and lost his coverage, die, because he can’t afford preventive medical treatment, and you are helping the country that you claim to love, drown in evergrowing health care fraud, waste and abuse.
Stop thinking about just yourself! Think about your children, and their childrens’ children, they may not have a silver spoon in thier mouth, don’t you want to be assured that regardless of their financial situation, they can receive the best heathcare available if they need it?

The current system is broken, yes. Everyone can agree on that. Healthcare costs are skyrocketing because its the racketeering of the insurance companies and the government. If illegals continue to walk into emergency rooms and get medical care from our system, we will pay through higher doctor bills.
The state of Florida tried the same thing by requiring all home insurance companies in the state to insure all risks, not only just the ones they deem acceptable. Before, those who lived in the center of the state payed lower insurance premiums and those who live at sea level next to the ocean payed higher policy rates. With the new law requiring the insurance companies to insure all, it did one thing only. It kept the rates on those living in a hazardous location the same, maybe dropping some, and those living inland in low risk locations paying 300% more. Yes, the state of Florida has its own “PUBLIC OPTION”, which means you can get insurance if nobody will insure you. The price for that insurance is NOT cheaper by any means. My tax dollars subsidizes the cost of that insurance for those high risk locations. Fair to me, absolutely not. Its all about personal choice. If one major disaster, ie a cat 5 hit florida and traveled the state, the state of Florida will be bankrupt. Do you actually believe that they have the money standing by to cover these hazards??? lol

Healthcare reform is needed, most are not denying that. Lets be skeptical of what our government drafts and inspect very closely. Somebody will have to pay for this, and it will most likely be you. If President Obama pulls the same stunt he did on the “Bail Out” package and pass it ask quick as possible to prevent congress from reading it, its going to be just another bag over the american people’s heads.
