The messenger is not the problem as much as its the message. There is no way this plan will not add to the deficit. The money has to come from somewhere and currently no federal funds are provided for health insurance unless you are on medicare, medicaid, VA, or work for the the government.

So if we start providing health insurance for everyone the money has to come from the federal funds. The government has two options to fund the program. First is fund it out of current funds which there are none available so it becomes a deficit item. Second, raise everyone’s taxes which put less money in your pocket to spend.

All this plan is going to do is stifle innovation and cost more in taxes.

Thanks for providing the written speech, it was great! I agree with President Obama, stop the bickering, and fix it. It is all spelled out in plain english, there is no reason why such strong opposition should continue to exist, unless the real truth is that they really don’t hate the message, just the messenger.

MediaCurves.com just conducted a national study with 951 viewers of President Barack Obama’s speech to Congress in which he focused on his plan for healthcare reform. Results showed that more than half of all political parties reported that the speech was “somewhat or extremely effective. The study also found that the majority of Democrats reported that they have a better perception of healthcare reform after viewing Obama’s speech, while Republicans’ perceptions are relatively unchanged and Independents were split on their reactions to the speech. “But know this: I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it’s better politics to kill this plan than improve it. I will not stand by while the special interests use the same old tactics to keep things exactly the way they are. If you misrepresent what’s in the plan, we will call you out. And I will not accept the status quo as a solution. Not this time. Not now.”
