AMEN! I forgot to google her. I will do it right now.
I googled. I love learing something new each day. I am surprised I did not learn about her in school. There was a quote : She was not trying to be a pioneer, she was one: I agree. Thanks BMWK. I am going to ask my kids if they know who she was. What is “Black History Month” for if I am not getting all my history. Thank goodness for google. Althea Gibson is the reason why ppl like Tiger Woods, Arthur Ash and the Williams Sisters exist. I just spoke with my daughter, she knows who Ms Gibson is. She learned in school and from “The Disney Channel”. I guess I was sleeping in class that day, or just too old to remember. LOL.
