Lamar Talks The Web Business With Black Web 2.0

blueprint

I had the opportunity to do a great interview with the folks over at Black Web 2.0. They have a feature called Blueprint where they highlight different folks in the Indie Web Business and this week for their second installment they picked me. It really was an honor and there were great questions about the growth of  Black and Married With Kids.com. For the bloggers we also detailed how BMWK became the largest independent site on the web that deals with black marriages and families. If you ever wanted to know some of the ways you can make your site grow check it out.

Please take a look and leave a comment. While Gossip blogs get most of the attention because of their numbers smaller indie sites like ours that go about making a difference in the community often get overlooked. Show Black Web 2.0 some love by checking out the article here and making your voice heard.

    Lamar,

I read your interview. You and your wife are truly an inspiration. You’re so right that the black sites that get the most attention seem to be the rap, gossip, sex, and music industry sites. Just take a look at the Best Black Web Blogs of 2009 awards and you’ll see what I mean. I refer to it as the BET – ification of the web.

That’s why I love it when I come across a quality uplifting site like yours. Keep up the good work. Many of us appreciate what you’re doing.
