In a recent bible study, we discussed God’s will and what came up was the old saying, “If there is a will, there is a way.” I asked my group if we honestly knew what we are saying when we make that statement. Or, are we just making a statement because it sounds like the right thing to say, without any meaning or actually believing what we are saying? However, the statement might appear to be a clique’, but it is sooo true in life. If there is a will, there is definitely a way.
When it comes to having and/or maintaining a healthy lifestyle, if there is a will, there is a way. You have to be willing or have the willingness to want a healthier lifestyle when it comes to eating properly and exercising. It has to be within you. It’s like having the fight inside of you saying,”Get up, go workout.” “It’s a beautiful day outside to walk, bike or run.” Instead of eating McDonalds because it is fast and cheap, why don’t you go home and prepare a wonderful, healthy meal for either yourself and/or family.
When I was younger, I would always say, “Dad, oooh, McDonalds can you stop? And, he would say…. “No, I am going to go home and fix you a real hamburger.” I am sooo thankful he did that. However, being a young child, I was crushed. But NOW I know what he meant. He was willing to make sure his daughter was eating quality food. I know what you are saying, “Tianna, I am tired when I get home, I have to help my kids with their homework, or I don’t have time to exercise. I am too tired.” The key is that you have to be willing. Try to plan your day to fit in cooking dinner or taking a walk. And, if you still don’t have the time, always remember my personal chef services where I can take care of all the shopping and cooking for you so that you can enjoy that family time. I know it is hard because life definitely throws you some curve balls, but remember if there is a will, there is a way. You have to just believe it within yourself. Remember we all have that fight in us. So, let’s fight the good fight of faith and be willing to make choices to bring about changes so that we can improve our lifestyles when it comes to our physical health.
With everyone firing up the grill, summertime is a great way to stay healthy by preparing some fabulous dishes. Recently, my boyfriend, Beau, and I hosted a cookout with our friends and family and instead of making a regular Caesar Salad, we grilled the romaine lettuce. It was awesome and had a really great flavor. Even the next day I noticed the lettuce was still firm and crispy! :-}} (Even throw the croutons on the grill)!!…ENJOY!!!
Beau’s Grilled Romaine Lettuce w/Ciabatta Bread (The Croutons)
4 servings
Ingredients
2 heads of Romaine Lettuce
Olive oil
1/2 cup of fresh grated Parmesan Cheese
Salt and Black crack pepperDirections
Rinse and dry the head of Romaine lettuce. Slice the Romaine in two length wise and pull away the few leaves that will seperate when you slice the lettuce. Drizzle liberally with olive oil and put a little coarse salt, fresh cracked black pepper. Grate about a half cup of Parmesan cheese. Then grill the lettuce. Look for the lettuce to blacken a bit. The lettuce should have a nice char look to it without having the lettuce wilt to much under the heat. Sprinkle with cheese. Eat and Enjoy!Cook Notes: If you are going to be grilling chicken breast, you can always slice up the chicken breast and serve it over your grilled Romaine lettuce.
