BMWK’s Week of Love: Valentine’s Day Gifts For The Geek In Your Life

It’s that time again where you wait until the last minute to rack your brain to come up with a Valentines’ Day gift for your special someone…that doesn’t look like it was last minute.

It only makes matters worse when the person you’re shopping for is historically picky. Even worse if that person is a techie (Ask me how I know). Have no fear; Brotha Tech is here to give you some last-minute tech gifts for your special [geeky] someone.

Valentine gadget protective skins

Some sort of cover, case, or bumper, or skin is usually the first accessory a gadget-fiend normally buys to protect their prize possession. To show them that you care just as much about their gadgets as they do?, ZAGGskins offers film-like protective skins that can cover just about any smartphone, tablet or laptop currently on the market.

The website has a special holiday category where you can select various Valentines’ skins that will protect your boo’s gadgets and let everybody that sees their stuff know that they are your property somebody cares. ZAGGskins start at around $19.99 (depending on the gadget); with free USPS first-class shipping on all orders over $30.00.

Flash Drive Designs

If you’re head over heels in love with a techie, you probably can’t count the number of USB flash (thumb) drives they have. So why not get them a special flash drive that makes them think of you every time they download, upload, copy, or install. The site China Grabber (don’t act like you don’t own anything from China) offers a wide assortment of flash drives for just about anybody’s taste. You name it; China Grabber made it into a thumb drive. Most of the items I clicked on were free shipping and I saw prices as low as $9.99 and storage size from 2GB and up.

Decorative Apple Earbud Covers

If you have an Apple Fanboy/girl on your hands that only rocks all Apple everything, they probably will go through the fire to defend the “magical and revolutionary” earbuds that come with some Apple gadgets. For the rest of us, they are just some plain-old earbuds, but notsomuch for your boo. To entertain their geeky idiosyncrasies, you can check out the DEOS store and get your techie special covers that can jazz up those regular extraordinary Apple earbuds that your techie just can’t live without. Prices start at about $9.99 and can get up to $100+ if you opt for some of the Swarovski-laced covers.

Social Media Pillows

Anybody that’s in the Social Media/Networking /Blogging game should be more than familiar with all of the different logos major brands use to increase awareness across all of the social networking sites. If your techie has a favorite brand or site that they can’t take their attention off of long enough for you to get some “pillow talk” time in, maybe you just get them an actual pillow of their favorite brand.
Etsy has a shop called Craftsquatch that makes handmade pillows of all the major brands and sites: Google, Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter are just some of the brands that you can have made into a pillow. The pillows start at $16.99, but are handmade and can take 3-6 weeks to make. You probably won’t make the February 14th deadline with this gift, but I thought it was so cute (can a man say cute and not break a Man Law?) that I had to add it to the list.

Since I’m a picky-techie (Pickie??), I just thought I would lend a hand to all of those folks out there who have to buy gifts this Valentines’ Day for their loved ones who just so happen to love their gadgets.
