{Be A Better Spouse Challenge} Tip #2: Buy Gifts For A Rainy Day

With the availability of discount programs through sites like Groupon.com or LivingSocial.com you can get great deals on everything from a night at the local bed and breakfast or drinks at a favorite local restaurant.

Snap up these deals and tuck them away for a rainy day. When they come home stressed out by their job, pull out a weekend getaway that you picked up for cheap. Or add a little spontaneity with a mid day call to your husband or wife to meet you at the local bar or restaurant after work.

When was the last time your spouse surprised you with a gift or vice versa?

Although, I’m not married, this is a great idea, because everyone loves to be appreciated.

I did this just a few weeks ago. I bought a weekend at a bed & breakfast 2 hours away and kept it secret until my wife was having a stressed out moment. Just having a date circled on the calendar was great for both of our spirits. And the weekend was great and inexpensive. Great Tip!

…any reason to use Living Social :) Great tip though–it’s a way to keep the “dating” element in the relationship.
