Recently, I was asked: “What is the best thing about being married?”

I really can’t just give only one answer to this question.   But I said: “Being able to wake-up with your best friend everyday.”   My husband and I are BFFs and I look forward to what each day will bring with him. We enjoy each other’s company, we support each other in all that we do, I confide in him with my most intimate secrets, he comforts me when I am feeling sad or anxious, he encourages me to go after my dreams, he is a great parenting partner, he truly makes me better (stole that from Ne-Yo.)

BMWK family – This is another roll call.   Please leave a comment below and tell us the best thing about being married.

Feeling spiritually connected to someone and know that person is connected to you. I can feel when my husband is happy or when something is wrong–even when he’s not around. And I believe he feels it too.

Having sex with one person!!! Having a person who lets you know with everything, “we’re in this together”! I even love the fights cause making up is awesome!!!! We’re both in right standing with God! No more fornication! A companion,  my best friend  for life!!! My thoughts are his thoughts! We finish each others sentences! We communicate! There’s nothing that we enjoy better than each other!

I love the connection my husband and I have. It’s been one we’ve had almost from the moment we met..but has grown stronger as we have grown in our relationship. He can complete my sentences, state my thoughts before I get a chance to even speak it aloud…He completes the verses in the songs I sing…lol. Its funny because I never knew how that could feel before I met him. I love waking up to him, I love sharing my life with him, especially in this crazy system. He supports me, he looks out for me, I can tell him anything and I believe he feels the same. And even when life isn’t peaches n cream, or we’re disagreeing about something…I could never imagine doing this journey with anyone else :)

Being married to my bestfriend. Knowing that no matter how low I’m feeling, he still thinks I’m beautiful. We’re both saved and holy ghost fill so I dont have to drag him to church. Waking up to the same man. Knowing that even if I’m in bed before him, he still kisses me good night and is there in the morning.  He so  supportive, loving, Kind! Goodness I could go On.!

The best thing about being married is now I don’t have to pay her back for all the money I borrowed during college.

That, and I don’t have to mess around with today’s crazy dating-scene.

    What? I’m being honest

Yeah, yeah, yeah – All that fuzzy stuff the folks above (and below) me mentioned.

My wife and I have reached that place where we understand each others tendencies. Communication is supreme in any relationship. But is a beautiful thing when you reach a point with your spouse where you dont have to put words to every little thing. There is no substitute for being on the same wavelength. And after eight years of marriage we are finally there. It is a beautiful thing and it one of many reason why no woman could ever take her place.

Plus, I have a few male friends that are still single. I wouldnt want to be out there for anything. From the things I hear the dating scene is crazy. I want no parts of that.

The best thing about being married is the closeness. My husband is so many things to me; my best friend, my confidant, my lover, my most trusted adviser, my personal chef and comedian    and he’s  my atm, lol! Even with all of the ups and downs I truey love being married to my husband!

“She completes me” is probably the corniest lines ever and one I personally despise, but one that is absolutely true in my marriage. Now, while both my wife and I came into our marriage as whole individuals we complete each other. Here’s how:

“The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him” . . . But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a womean from the rib he had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man.

So when the Lord brought my rib (my wife) back to me she became bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.   My wife has a vision, a perspective and a thought process that is polar opposite to mine. This means she sees what I won’t, covers me where I can’t cover me and is watching my back as I watch her back. Although I don’t understand what she sees sometimes, I trust what she sees because God said she was my comparable helpmeet – meaning her ability is 1st rate. When you add what I see and cover to what she sees and cover the what we, collectively see, is “COVERED”. Without her I would have to see it or cover it, but with her she got my back.

So the best thing about being married is I have a friend who is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, who was created just for me and together we are about the business of living, loving and liking each other in the blueprint that God created for us.

Is knowing I have someone that loves me unconditionally through great and not so great times and shares everything with me. Our goals, our fears, our bodies, everything. Someone who protects me and have my best interests at heart. My husband is my best friend.

Knowing that I am a part of the family model that The Most High created for man….knowing that my husband was created just for me. Our lives have opened up in ways we never thought could happen once we were married. His strengths are my weaknesses and my strengths are his weaknesses…we compliment each other in a way that their are no deficiencies on our home. It amazes me daily the blessings that come from entering into covenant and how The Most High MOVES in our marriage because we seek Him first. Marriage amazes me, my husband amazes me and EVERYTHING about it…even the valleys are awesome because they have made us this resilient couple that truly walks as one that learns and loves unconditionally.
