R&B singer Tamia spoke to Hip Hop Hollywood about being not-so-fond of the way the term “basketball wife” is used these days: “I think that’s an interesting side bar thing that’s happening. Obviously I’m a basketball wife – do I fit what you see on TV? No. Clearly that’s their sort of reality, I guess. Or maybe its made for TV, I’m not so sure.” [Hip Hop Hollywood]
You may be out of luck if you’re expecting more somber songs from singer Keyshia Cole on her next album. She recently talked to Essence about how being in a happy marriage and motherhood have changed what she wants to sing about: “It has because I’m in a happy place now. However, some of my fans are not. So I brought on a bunch of writers this time around”... obviously I’m not in that place to write those kinds of songs.” Keyshia will return to reality TV with the show Family First, featuring Keyshia, husband Daniel Gibson, her son, and mother, but says it will be nothing like her first show, The Way it Is. Tia Mowry-Hardrict spoke to the Insider about her decision to allow one-year-old son Cree to be featured on her reality show, Tia and Tamera. Tia, who has previously spoken about keeping much of her relationship with hubby Cory Hardrict off-camera, says that she initially had reservations about letting the world in on Cree’s life: “I was hesitant about putting him out to the world for scrutiny. But, overall, he is my biggest gift, so why not share that with the world..”.... I am a working mom and there are challenges that come along with that. I want moms to feel like they can relate to me and my son and our family.” [Elev8]
