Hollywood has lost another star unexpectedly. Actor Michael Clarke Duncan, most famous for his role in The Green Mile, has passed away at the age of 54.
The death came as a shock and surprise to many, including Duncan’s fiance, Omarosa Manigault, who had just left his hospital room briefly before he passed away. Manigault’s mom was in the room with Ducan during his last moments.
Back in July, Duncan was hospitalized for myocardial infarction, and his representatives told the media that he never fully recovered from the cardiac arrest.
Michael Clarke Duncan was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his role as John Coffey in The Green Mile. Prior to his numerous roles as an actor, he worked as a bodyguard for celebrities such as Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, and Notorious B.I.G. Duncan made appearances in shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Jamie Foxx Show, The Wayans Brothers, Living Single, and Sister, Sister, as well as lending his vocals for numerous animated features.
Celebrities expressed their condolences via Twitter:
We will truly miss Michael Clarke Duncan and pray for his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
