As a wife, I reign as queen. My husband, rules as king. And with any royal couple, we both play very important roles in maintaining a healthy, happy marriage. After sitting on my throne for three years, I’ve discovered that much of my value lies in the invisible crown that rests upon my head. Let me explain.
The Tiara, the beautiful headpiece normally worn by brides, is an acronym I created for modern-day wives. Embedded within the encrusted tiara are five principles that highlight some essential duties for Your Highness to follow. Wives, when you wear The Tiara, your powerful accessory doesn’t just represent your position. When it sparkles, you place your king in a deep trance of endless love and admiration.
T-Tame Your Tongue. Whoever taught us that “…words will never hurt us” wasn’t honest. Wives, the words you use can speak “life” or “death” into your husband. You have the power to build him up or tear him down. I believe a tamed tongue is disciplined. It’s mature and gentle. In other words, a wife doesn’t “speak her mind” without being selective in the words she uses.
I-Interpret His Definition of Love. Gary Chapman, author of The 5 Love Languages, explains that there are five ways that couples can give and receive love. It’s important for a wife to truly understand what love language her husband speaks. Does he need quality time or physical touch? Discover his love language and learn to speak it fluently.
A-Affirm Him with Sweet Words. “I believe in you.” “You can do it.” “I trust you.” are just a few affirmations that you can declare to your husband. When a wife speaks “life” into her husband, it’s like the cartoon character Olive Oil giving Popeye a bowl of spinach. You’re not only giving your husband a healthy supplement, but the affirmations act as nutrients. In the end, it’s great for his overall performance.
R-Respect His Authority. Ladies, as controversial as it is, there’s power in submission. Within any kingdom, there’s a hierarchy of order. When a wife submits, or yields to her husband’s leadership, she reaps an immeasurable harvest of love, grace, peace, favor, and mercy. Not only is respecting your king’s position honorable and demonstrates trust, but it’s another dialect of love.
A-Arouse His Sexual Pleasures Often. Sex is like water. Wives, you must keep your husband hydrated and replenished. Rejuvenate his spirit and quench his thirst by making love to him–regularly. Together, you can create an exciting and fulfilling sex-life that’s greatly suitable for a king and queen.
