When I’m in the car with my kids, I try to make it a point to listen to the jazz station. Smooth music, for the most part, no lyrics, with few commercials.
Some days I forget and then all of a sudden, I hear Lil’ Wayne talking about…hell, whatever he raps about. I really don’t know.
I quickly flip the station and throw a glance at the babies in the backseat. My kids are only 3 and 1, so I don’t feel like they need to be exposed to that music now, if …

School is underway and the kids are settling into their daily routines. By the second week of school, our second grader was getting notes in her daily agenda book.
Day 1 it was simply: “Talking”. So I reminded her that talking was disruptive and asked her not to do it again.
Day 2 it was: “Talkative.” So I said 2 notes in one week!! If you bring home another note, you will lose your outside time after school tomorrow. We had a long talk and she explained …

I was at a wedding this past weekend with my husband and two kids. Since this was a very low-key affair, there wasn’t much seating, so we put the kids on our laps to make room for other people.

In the 3.5 seconds …

Lamar and I have different view points on taking our kids out to a sit down restaurant for dinner. Since they are so little, he does not want to take them to restaurants at all because they usually cry or have an episode that causes one of us to take them out of the dining area. He can not truly enjoy his meal and also he does not like to ruin other people’s meals with our crying kids. Me on the other hand, I like …

Success! This is the feeling that Ronnie and I have had lately as we reached another milestone with the last of our children. We’ve been scratching off our list of things we won’t have to do or wait for anymore since we don’t plan on having anymore kids i.e. buying formula (holla if you hear me lol), washing bottles, always carrying someone because they can’t walk. Over the past few days we’ve reached a new milestone TALKING, well kinda.
It’s still mixed in with …

“It is absolutely amazing how many parents and children have no idea how to brush their teeth,” says Dr. Smith, a Los Angeles Dentsist. “I am always surprised by this huge number–as many as 75 percent–because improper brushing can result in as …

Texting is not just for kids anymore as more and more parents are climbing out of the dark ages and embracing the communication method of the future. This ‘new generation’ of texters may pride themselves on finally catching up to the 21st century, but they still have a lot to learn before their texting forefathers (i.e. their kids) will fully accept them into their texting community.
