A healthy relationship is often about what the couple does together to make things work. Are they on the same page? Do they communicate their needs to one another? Do they share the same values?
But, it’s important to realize that it’s not always about what is being done together. Oftentimes, it’s about what is being done individually. How you take care of yourself and your needs can be just as, if not more, important than what happens when you are with your partner.
Taking care of yourself, and doing things to create a healthy state of mind, may be just what your relationship needs. If you take responsibility for how you feel, you put a lot less pressure on someone else. Remember, our partners should be adding joy to our lives — they shouldn’t be the one responsible for creating joy. You should create your own joy. Here are some things you can do to make that happen.
