When we normally think of family fun or family vacations in Florida, we think of Orlando.  The city of Orlando is home to countless theme parks, water parks and world famous shopping  for Mom & Dad.  There’s another popular city in Florida that has a lot of fun filled attractions for the entire family.   Welcome to Miami!

That’s right, party city Miami has a lot of family attractions.  Miami is filled with fabulous restaurants, night clubs and tourist attractions and a little NBA team also call it home. (lol)  Miami is also becoming a popular destination for families. We’ve found three popular family attractions in Miami.

Jungle Island_Miami

Jungle Island is the most popular family attraction in Miami.  So popular Jay-Z & Beyonce held Blue-Ivy’s 2nd birthday party there.  Jungle Island features a petting farm in the children’s area and several unique animal exhibits.  Visit the ‘Red Kangaroos’ from Australia or the King of Jungle Island the ‘Liger’ who is half male lion and half female tiger.  Done visiting  your exotic animal friends, relax on ‘La Playa.’  ‘La Playa’ is Jungle Islands’ private beach with aquatic bounce houses for you and the kids to splash in and cool off.  Save on admission by printing/downloading a 25% off coupon (good thru 3/31/2014) from the website www.jungleisland.com.

miamichildrensmuseum

Miami Children’s Museum is known for family fun in a learning environment.  Kids will enjoy climbing thru a 2-story sand castle and discovering sands from all over the world.  The family will also enjoy the ‘Bank’ experience while walking thru the ‘6ft. piggy bank.’  You’ll get to design your own bills and learn how to earn, save and spend money.  The history buff in the family will love “Meet Miami.”  Experience one of Miami’s unique neighborhoods in a different time period.  History on a totally different and fun level.  There are a total of 17 permanent exhibits, for more information visit www.miamichildrensmuseum.org or call 305-373-KIDS (5437).

zoo_miami

Zoo Miami is like no other zoo you and the family have visited.  Since Miami is considered an exotic tourist destination it’s only natural that the animals that call Zoo Miami home are the worlds’ most exotic.  See the beauty of the unique ‘brown pelican,’ or the new baby Pygmy hippo – Asali.  Be terrified by Colombia and Venezuela’s ‘Orinoco Crocodile’ and see the famous Miami Flamingo’s also known as the ‘Caribbean Flamingo’  up close and in living color.   They are simply gorgeous in person.  See the complete list of exotic animals by visiting  www.miamimetrozoo.com.

Miami is a great choice for the family’s next vacation.  Go during basketball season and complete the family vacation by taking in a Miami Heat game.  I promise you’ll love it!

The fun and fabulous day to celebrate your love with candy, stuffed animals, balloons and cards is fast-approaching.  If you can’t surprise your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day with a getaway to a beautiful Caribbean island ,we can help you plan a fabulous staycation in your hometown.

  • To pull this off, the kids are going to have to spend the night at their God parents’ house or Grandma’s house (the night before and the day of…lol).
  • Start the official day of love with breakfast/brunch in bed with a menu of your favorite breakfast treats.  Next, spend the afternoon being pampered.
  • Go to a great spa for a couples’ massage, and his-n-her facials.  If you can’t book a spa appointment consider a couples’ massage at your local ‘Massage Envy.’
  • Follow your afternoon of pampering with a little shopping for those special dinner outfits.
  • Wrap up your ‘Valentine’s Day’ with dinner at your favorite restaurant.  If your favorite restaurants are booked consider dinner at a local winery.  Great food and several wines to sample are also an excellent choice for your special dinner.
  • Opt for a late check-in at the hotel, but before you pretend to check-in late with your spouse (wink wink), go to the hotel and decorate your suite with chocolates on the pillows, candles and rose petals from the door to the bed.
  • Before you retire to your hotel suite, squeeze in little after dinner dancing at your favorite night spot/nightclub.

You don’t always have to go out of town to spend quality time with your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day.  Create your own special Valentine’s Day memories in your favorite city.  Make it a ‘Valentine’s Day’ tradition and experience a different restaurant, hotel and spa each year.

(Remember to reserve your hotel and restaurant options as soon as possible as reservations will fill up fast.)

BMWK – please share with us what you do to make Valentine’s Day special?
