This is the follow-up to 9 Signs Your Marriage Will Stand the Test of Time.
Here is the thing about human nature; when things are great, we want to shout it from the rooftop, but when things are crappy we retreat.
It happens to the best of us. That’s why when we find out friends or loved ones are getting divorced it can be a bit of a surprise. Sure, there are couples that seemed to be headed that way, but then there are the couples that we swore were happy—the relationships that we just knew would stand the test of time.
No one marries with the intention of getting divorced. If that were the case, marriage would never seem like a good idea. But life happens and couples that were once madly in love can find themselves looking at their spouse like a stranger, wondering where things went wrong.
And it’s not about having this perfect marriage and this perfect life because that doesn’t exist. It’s about having a real marriage where both parties are equipped to deal with the real-ness of life. That’s really what it boils down too. Sometimes, every couple has to be real with one another and ask, is our marriage in trouble, and are we doing everything that we need to do to save it?
Surely, knowing that your marriage is in trouble can get pretty complicated.
These are just a few signs that most couples ignore even though they can indicate that your union, made in love, might be in some trouble.
