Beyonce Opens Up the Stevie Wonder Tribute

I don’t think its possible to grow up without having a favorite Stevie Wonder song. I have 3 or 4 myself (Ribbon in the Sky, Isn’t She Lovely), and it seems that thousands felt the same way last night at the Songs in the Key of Life: An All-Star Grammy Salute for him.

The 2 hour Grammy Tribute was held at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. and aired on CBS last night. It was a constant celebrity showcase of talent that gave us hit after hit from Stevie Wonder, who has been awarded 25 Grammy’s in his career.

Beyonce opened up the show with Wonder’s first big hit, “Fingertips Part 2” and did not disappoint us with her powerful voice and performance. She was then joined by Ed Sheeran and brought the house down with “Master Blaster (Jammin’).”

Other performers included; Lady Gaga, John Legend, Ariana Grande, Babyface, Jennifer Hudson, Pharrell Williams, Ryan Tedder, Andrea Bocelli, and Annie Lennox. The surprise of the evening came from Neyo who started singing, “Isn’t She Lovely” and brought Stevie Wonders daughter, Aisha (the songs inspiration) out to help finish the song.

With Stevie Wonder’s music being so universal, it was truly a tribute not to be missed.

BMWK, did you catch the tribute? What was your favorite part?
