Brooklyn Eighth-Grader Publishes Two Books

When I was an eighth-grader, growing up in Brooklyn, I loved books and I would write poetry and the occassional story all the time. Never did I imagine that I would publish a book at that age. Well, 13-year-old Angela Content took her love for writing and decided to write and publish two books.

A Brooklyn, New York native, Angela shared her plans to publish with her mother. Her mother was not surprised by her daughter’s ambition, but never did she imagine that those big dreams would work out so quickly and her daughter would have two books being sold on several websites, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Angela used the website CreateSpace to make her dreams come true. Her first book, “Awake and Alive” is a sci-fi fantasy, while her second book, “Shattered” is a romance novel.

It takes Angela about 3 months to write a book and she writes them all by hand, saying that it flows with more ease that way. The young lady is currently working on two more books.  When interviewed by CBS News New York Angela’s advice for other kids was, “Continue to follow your dreams. You’re going to feel great once you actually accomplish what you set your mind to.”

I hope this young lady serves as inspiration to all the youth out there to have a story to share with the world.
