Magic Johnson told People Magazine that he believes that his HIV status has brought his family closer. The 53-year-old says that his family helps him by constantly making sure he’s taking his medicine, working out and eating healthy. He says that he, his wife Cookie, and children Earvin, Elisa and Andre are all “in the same fight, the same battle in terms of HIV,” he says. “I think it’s brought my whole family closer together”...Nobody can beat this disease by himself. You need a support system that you can open up to.”

But sometimes you do need a different opinion.”
