Chicago Teen Hopes to Find a Cure for Colon Cancer

Currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Kevin Stonewall is a bright and determined young man who may just be the person who develops a cure for colon cancer.

When Kevin was in high school, he interned at Rush University and his experiments earned him a number of awards, including being a finalist at Intel’s International Science and Engineer Fair in 2013. In one of his experiments, a vaccine he created was 100% effective on young mice, curing them of colon cancer.

We often hear the heartbreaking stories about Chicago teens, but this young man from Chicago’s south side is on a mission to save countless lives, and he reminds us that our youth can accomplish great things. Kevin readily credits his parents for inspiring him to excel academically.

We hope Kevin continues to reach great heights and that he one day finds a cure for colon cancer.
