I know gangs are known by their colors, but she obviously went with that assumption when making that statement. As an African American who went to a HBCU, I am familiar with all of the Fraternities and Sororities in our community. I understand that other cultures may not be, but to immediately assume they are a gang on national television was inappropriate.

These ladies could have been a club, a church mother’s group, a group of friends or anything else (positive) that you could think of.  Unfortunately, the fact that she immediately suggested gang affiliation says a lot about the initial thoughts that run through people minds (of other cultures).

BMWK, How do you feel about her comment?
