The details have been release about the memorial service honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Maya Angelou.
Friends and family will gather to pay tribute to Dr. Angelou’s life in a private memorial service that will take place on Saturday, June 7th at 10:00am at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC.
If you are interested in viewing the service Wake Forest University will livestream the memorial service at 10:00am on Saturday. The service will take place in the University’s Wait Chapel, which seat 2,550 people.
After teaching at the University for over 30 years, it is no surprise that her memorial service will be held at the institution. Dr. Angelou even had plans to teach a course at the university this fall. Among others, Oprah Winfrey will be speaking at the service on Saturday.
