Jarrett Adams has plenty of reasons to smile.
Before being exonerated in 2006, Adams served 10-years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Now, the 34-year-old is on his way to becoming a law school graduate!
At age 17, Adams was convicted of rape in Wisconsin. During his trial, key witnesses who could have cleared him were not called upon to give their testimony.
While behind bars, he became proactive and immersed himself in law books. Learning his case thoroughly, Adams wrote letters from a maximum security prison expressing his innocence.
Finally, with help from the Wisconsin Innocence Project, life behind bars was no more and Jarrett Adams, who went in as teen, came out as an adult and entered community college, a month after his release.
He then graduated with honors from Roosevelt University and headed to Loyola University Law School, where he will receive his degree on May 16.
