A message my pastor brought was on how to make it through tough times. He said that we should allow God to take control because He sees what we cannot. We have to learn to trust Him with every decision we have to make. He said before we make a decision we out to seek God. So I thought I would share that we should seek him in our relationships too regardless if we are married, engaged or thinking about marriage.
If You are Married
If you are married, you need to seek God daily. Everything you do when you are married not only affects you but your spouse and kids, if you have any. If all is well in your marriage, praise God. If things are rocky, praise God. When you don’t know how to work out the problem, pray. No matter the state of your marriage, you need God. Pray together, pray for each other.
If You are Engaged
If you are engaged, you need to seek God. While you are waiting to say “I do”, you need to make sure you are ready for the commitment. If you are going into the marriage like it’s just any other relationship just with a legal document, you really need to seek God for guidance. Seek Him so you can learn how to be the spouse your future spouse needs.
If You are Single
If you are single and desire to be married, seek God. Allow him to lead you to the person He has for you. Pray that you don’t end up wasting time with the wrong person just because he or she is a right now convenient person. Trust God and be patient so you can be protected from someone or something that can harm you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Whatever stage you are in, seek God. You will make mistakes because you are human and can learn from them. By seeking God you allow Him to guide you into your destiny while avoiding a lot of pitfalls. Trust Him with your relationship because He can see into your future whereas you can only see the present.
