These 5 Heartfelt Prayers Will Strengthen You Throughout This Holiday Season

The Holidays have officially arrived. Thanksgiving was the intiation of the fun so it has all only just begun.

The holidays can be a very stressful time with family, friends, finances, and just the fear of having to deal with where you really are in life. It can get pretty real, real quick. Its easy during the holidays to allow the spirit of comparison to come on you as you see others happy and enjoying their life to the fullest.

I have 5 prayers to help you make it through the holidays. These prayers can be recited or you can use them as a diving board for your own personal time with God.

He doesn’t want to see you depressed, sad, upset, or lonely which could result in you making decisions this holiday season that you may regret.

We understand the enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy us, but we are victorious in Christ Jesus. May these prayers bring hope to you as you go into one of the busiest times of the year.

1) Prayer for Financial Wisdom on Spending

Father, I thank you that your Word says if any man is lacking wisdom to ask of you and you will grant it to them. Father I am asking you for wisdom and self control this holiday season in the area of my finances.

I declare that I will have more than enough to help others, but will also have the wisdom to know when to stop. Thank you for the ability to manage my money well so I go into the 2016 year financially prepared to take my finances to the next level.

2) Prayer for Healthy Eating

Father, I thank you that your Word says to taste and see that the Lord is good. I know this holiday season there will be many opportunities to over-indulge in food; but Lord, I am asking you for self control that I do not overeat which could cause regret later.

I agree that you have called me to take care of my body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Be my strength this Holiday season to know when enough is enough.

3) Prayer for Quality Time With Loved Ones

Father, I thank you that your Word says how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity. I am asking you this holiday season to protect my family from any demonic attacks from the enemy that could cause any type of division.

Father, I declare this holiday season that there will be no scandals, bickering, or gossiping among my family; instead, our time will be filled with wholesome conversation, re-connecting, and celebrating all you have done for us.

4) Prayer Against Loneliness/Depression

Father I thank you that when you died upon the cross you were beaten and bruised on my behalf. This was your way of demonstrating your love towards me. I am asking you that you would allow your love to penetrate my heart deeply so I would know that I am not alone.

I declare that the spirit of loneliness will not cause me to enter into depression or self pity. I am accepted and beloved in your sight and that is all that matters.

I pray you give me strength to focus on the things that bring me joy and happiness versus the things of my past that bring fear and bad thoughts. Thank you for being the God of my heart, soul, and mind.

5) Prayer for my marriage/relationships

Father I thank you that your Word says what God has brought together let no man separate. I thank you Lord for my marriage and the many trials we have overcome over the years.

I am declaring this holiday season that my spouse and I will grow closer together as we focus on the things that matters most during this season.

I declare we will see your favor and promises revealed as we prepare for the new year. I thank you that my marriage is in your hands, and I trust you to continue to lead us into your purpose for our lives. Amen
