Foodie Event Alert: Taste of Atlanta is Back!

Taste of Atlanta_Blackandmarriedwithkids

We love vacations, getaways, personal holidays whatever you want to call it…we love time off to relax and just enjoy quality time with family and friends.  Sometimes we can’t go on that vacation or weekend getaway we really want to enjoy because of time, budget or other commitments.  That’s the time we should enjoy a staycation, a mini vacation/break right in our own backyard/city.

I believe food festivals are a great way to enjoy quality time with your spouse while getting away from the stress of your daily grind.  It’s also the perfect way to experience your favorite foods and awesome new cuisine.  This year the ‘Taste of Atlanta’ celebrates 13 years of fabulous food and Atlanta’s great neighborhoods.

Atlanta is the food capital of the South and to prove it, the festival brings 90 restaurants and 300 tastes together over 3 days. Bring the kids cause the ‘family food zone’ is just for the young foodies.  Want to cook like your favorite celebrity chef?  Sharpen your cooking skills in the ‘kitchen workshop.’   This culinary adventure will also celebrate Atlanta’s diversity by showcasing local chefs from your favorite neighborhoods.

Participating restaurants include:  Paschal’s, G’s Midtown, The Melting Pot, 10th & Piedmont, 4th & Swift and Sprinkles cupcakery for the desert lovers.

Save money by purchasing your tickets online.  Tickets are $25 in advance (includes 10 taste coupons) and $35 at the door.  Need more taste coupons?  Visit www.tasteofatlanta.com to buy 5 taste coupons for $5.  If you’re a wine lover, the VIP experience is for you!  VIP Experience ticket holders will enjoy 40+ craft beers and a unique selection of wines from around the world in addition to special food and wine tastings.  Festival hours are 12-8p on Saturday and 12-6p on Sunday.  VIP Experience hours are 12:30-5:30p both days.

The ‘Taste of Atlanta’ is sure to be a sellout, so wear comfortable clothes and most importantly comfortable shoes. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

‘The Taste of Atlanta’ is  one of the top food festivals in the country and a great weekend of food and fun for everyone.  Don’t miss it!  For more information including the complete listing of participating restaurants, please visit www.tasteofatlanta.com.

Eat up and enjoy!
