The term “super mom” is so overrated. I love my family, but I love myself too! So having time for “me” means not having to spend my Saturdays cleaning the house. I’ve found several secrets to housekeeping on the internet, but I needed something that met my family’s needs. So, I created one.
I wanted to try it for a week first to see if we could stick to it. So far, so good. My family (including myself and husband) thrive on order and structure, so I’m thinking this is just what the doctor ordered. If you want your LIFE as well as a clean home, here’s a weekly housekeeping schedule that’s amazingly doable:
Laundry (at least one load)
Wipe Table after Meals
Bathrooms (Master and Guest)
Vacuum (main level)
Clean Out Fridge (old leftovers)
Take Trash to Curb
Grocery Shopping/Menu Planning for Next Week
Morning chores for kids (play area pick-up) and age appropriate tasks
Change bed linens
Work Outside (lawn, garden, clean cars/truck)
Church, Rest, Cook Sunday dinner and enjoy your family!
We are a family of five. While you may not find this exact schedule suitable for you and your family, I at least hope that it serves as a helpful guide. Depending on your traffic, you may also choose to deep clean monthly or quarterly, but it definitely needs to be done. There are so many other fun things in life to do besides cleaning!
