While summer is just getting started for many kids, our kids only have about 3 full weeks of summer vacation left and then they will be back in school. And, so when General Mills gave me a $100 gift card so that I could show you just how easy it is to earn money for your kid’s school while shopping at your favorite stores, I jumped at the chance to start school shopping.
Since starting in 1996. the Box Tops for Education program has given away over $525 Million to schools across the country. And the schools are using this money for things that they need from supplies for teachers and classrooms, to computer and play ground equipment, and more. How does it work? It’s very easy. You just clip Box Tops from your favorite products and then turn them in to your child’s school to be redeemed.
Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. And please don’t sleep on that 10 cents…it adds up quickly. I know of a school here in Georgia that earned $10,000 from clipping those Box Tops in the 2012- 2013 school year!! And since there are hundreds of products in the program…I am quite sure that you have Box Tops in your pantry right now.

Box Tops has partnered with hundreds of retailers so you can earn cash for your school when you shop at their websites. Here is how you do it:
1. Sign up.
Go to the Box Tops for Education website and sign-up (if you have not done that already.) This step is very important so that you can identify your child’s school…so that they will earn money when you make purchases.
2. Go to the Box Tops Marketplace.
Go over to the Box Tops Marketplace® and select a store from the list of 300 online stores. (Side note: when I saw that DSW was one of the participating stores…it was very hard for me to stay on task…but I came to my senses and re-focused on the kids.) I chose to shop at Justice, Aerie, and JCP. As they have great sales on summer items that my kids can wear back to school until the Fall season begins. 
3. Select your online store and shop.
Click the link that will take you to the site of your choice, shop for your items and wala!….. You’ll automatically earn eBoxTops® for your school with every qualified purchase.
It’s just that easy!!!! So, as you are making purchases for your summer activities and as you are purchasing items for back to school, please don’t forget to use the Box Tops Marketplace. As a parent, I can really appreciate that Box Tops has made it so easy for me to contribute towards my child’s education.
