A few weeks ago I stumbled across a very interesting video on Facebook. It was of a young man who was sending a message to his future wife. What really caught my attention was the phrase he used, “I will never stop earning you.”
It immediately struck a chord with me, and I wondered how many of us, who are actually married, are still doing what’s necessary to continue to earn our spouse.
It’s so easy to become complacent and relax in our marriages. Our days become so busy, and life can often be so stressful that nurturing our relationships is put on the back burner.
For me, I do plan on continuing to earn my husband. I will continue to be excited about him and show him that in the way I communicate with him. I must also make him a priority. Demonstrating my attraction to him, as well as doing those little things to make him feel special, are other great ways to earn him.
My desire is to be worthy of the love my husband gives to me. I can’t allow our marriage to become complacent. Relaxing just isn’t an option. I must be willing to show up for his love, just as he continues to earn mine.
Again, I’m happy to have found this video. It’s a great reminder for how all couples should approach their marriage.
