This week, Jennifer Hudson and her sister Julia stepped on stage at the People’s Choice Awards to accept the favorite humanitarian award for the foundation they started together in the name of Julia’s son, Julian D. King, who was murdered in 2008 along with the Hudson sisters’ mother and brother.
The Julian D. King Gift Foundation was developed to inspire young people facing adversity; giving them the relationships and tools they need to lead happy, healthy, successful lives.
When describing the foundation, Jennifer Hudson says, “with the loss of one child, so many other children have become blessed.” The foundation serves as an incredible resource that lets so many kids realize that they can do whatever they want in life, regardless of their circumstances.
Congratulations to the Hudson sisters for receiving this honor and for all the work they are doing to make a difference in the lives of so many young people.
